Priv. Beachfront Estate w/Htd Pool, Tennis Ct, Basketball, Kayaks, Pickleball

Early birds and night owls alike will find their bliss at Windchat Villas. Made up of two adjacent villas, Sunrise and Sunset, this luxury estate has exceptional ocean views as well as 250 feet of gorgeous private pink-sand beach frontage. Windchat has total privacy on 2.5 acres of land.

Windchat is a self-contained mini-resort, with plenty to do for guests of all ages (and activity levels). Down at the beach, have a swim in the warm water, take the kayaks or stand-up paddleboards out to explore, or bring back honeymoon memories with a sunset stroll along the sand. You can walk for 3 miles on our beach. Spot cruise ships from the porches, flip on the sound system as you stretch out in a lounger by the heated infinity pool or challenge everyone to shuffleboard, foosball, ping-pong or even tennis, pickleball, or basketball on the private court. The manicured grounds offer a wide selection of native plants and fruits. When the sun begins to sink, rinse off in one of the outdoor showers and heat up the barbecue for dinner. The property also has six TVs for those who prefer to relax indoors.

Sunrise Villa:

Enter Sunrise Villa by way of the covered front veranda and you are instantly presented full stunning views of the ocean. A 20' cathedral ceiling is the crowning point of the room. The dining area comfortably seats 6 and shares the panoramic ocean views enjoyed from all areas of the home. Just off of the dining area is the kitchen that has everything you need for a full course meal or a picnic at the beach. Sliding glass doors invite you to an oceanside deck with outdoor seating areas, waterside dining and stairs winding gently to the sea. Sunrise Villa (like Sunset Villa) has a laundry room.

The Sunrise Villa has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and an en-suite full bath, and it overlooks the ocean. The second bedroom also has an ocean view. It has two single beds that can be converted into a king bed and a bathroom just outside the room. The third bedroom is a recreation room with a sofa bed that can be used as a bedroom. This room is on the second floor and is equpped with cushioned love seats, board games, and television and audio equipment. It has an entertainment/media alcove which contains the full-size sleeper sofa, and it has a washroom with a half bath.

Sunset Villa:

The Sunset Villa also has three bedrooms. It is situated about 50 feet from the Sunrise Villa and is connected by a walkway and an outdoor seating area. The lower level of this villa offers a wrap-around deck, living room, chef-style kitchen, dining area seating 10 guests, and a powder room. The lower level is furnished for outdoor dining as well, with a 10-seat outdoor dining table on the wrap-around deck. The upper level offers expansive views of the ocean and island, wrap around deck, one king bedroom with private bath, one queen bedroom with private bath, and a laundry room. Sunset Villa's third bedroom is on the ground level, and partially below grade at the back. It has its own entrance, so is very private. This bedroom has a queen bed and a full luxury en-suite bath with walk-in shower.

Amenities include AC throughout, WIFI throughout, satellite TV, heated pool, gas grill, tennis court, pickleball, basketball, shuffleboard, kayaks, paddle boards, ping pong, foosball, board games. The home has an on-demand generator and back-up water system. There are two sets of washer/dryers.

WindChat is a 10 minute walk down the beach to the restaurant and bar at Unique Village, and a 20 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) to La Bougainvillea. Tippy’s is a 5 minute drive. Governors Harbour, the main town, with restaurants, grocery stores, banks, and shops, is a 10 minute drive.

The Windchat is an incredible place to call home while you are in Eluthera. It has absolutely everything. Kayaks, Paddleboards, snorkeling equip. Basketball, pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard... The amenities keep going and going. The house is clean and the beach was empty while we were there. we were the only people on an endless beach, literally. Delshire, the caretaker, was extremely helpful and kind. Fresh coconut water from the trees on the property along with other fruits if requested. You cant go wrong staying here. Did I mention the huge pool with all the pool toys??!! we will be back!

Great property, you should know…
Natural beauty of this property is impressive. Here are details I wish I had known before arrival. BTW, I have traveled to many islands; understand challenges of supply chain and maintenance on an island. Property is spacious, lots of room, could easily have 10 people here. Having two villas was convenient and allowed everyone plenty of space. Location is excellent. Middle of Eleuthera, easy access north or south, Governors Harbor is 10 minutes by car, and a few good/great restaurants closer. Beach is spectacular! Pink sand, no rocks, no seaweed while we were there, almost no trash, plenty of space to stroll up and down the beach. The bottom is sandy and clean in the water, with a significant drop-off not far out. I saw rays, small sharks, and other fish. The kitchens are very well equipped, best I’ve ever seen in a rental. Caretaker comes daily to keep the grounds, pool, and beach tidy. The surprises… Property showing signs of wear. The plaster on the pool walls and bottom needs to be rehabbed; it is borderline dangerous, in my opinion. The pool waterfall was not functional until day 3 of our stay. Water pressure in one bathroom very low, almost unusable. About half of all recreational equipment is broken and unusable. This was particularly frustrating as I inquired ahead of time and was told all was good. Seemed like about half the linens and bath towels were stained. Despite those details, we had a terrific stay and you will too.

Absolute perfection!
My husband and I brought our 3 boys and 5 of their friends (ages ranged from 17 to 23) to our annual trek to Eleuthera, and this house was the perfect playground for us all! We've been all over the island - from lighthouse to Harbour Island, and the private beach in front of this house is among the most beautiful we've been to. Having a tiki hut on the beach provided the HUGE bonus of shade from the sun! The wind was low on the Atlantic side during out stay so we were able to take the provided kayaks out to explore the beautiful reefs right in front of the house. (BYO snorkel gear). We loved having the pickle ball/tennis/basketball court and we used them almost every day, along with the pool. The 2 houses were beautiful and very clean, had cool a/c, and the kitchens were VERY well stocked with sharp knives and plenty of nice pots, pans, bowls, cookie sheets - everything you would want for meal prep - and plenty of dishes for our group of 10. And of course Tippy's is right down the street, as is Mate & Jenny's Pizza and 3J's Jerk chicken.

Amazing!
The property is beautiful and just as pictured! Spent a lot of time at beach and lounging in pool. Lots of rafts for pool. The kitchen is equipped with anything you could possibly need. We had chef Brenda come 2 days to cook dinner and it was the best chicken and ribs we have ever ate. Brenda even helped us get off the island after silver airways cancelled our flight. Felix was around to open coconuts for us one day. Mostly you never see him. Would definitely rent Windchat again! I can’t say enough good things about the rental

Fantastic house with a beautiful location
The house and grounds were fantastic and provided great entertainment for all ages. All sorts of activities were provided, tennis, basketball, pickleball, swimming in either the pool or the ocean. The views were spectacular and the flora and fauna of the grounds were amazing and Felix the grounds keeper has done a wonderful job of maintaining them. Del is a friendly energetic manager and can help you with recommendations and is Johnny on the spot for getting things taken care of.

Roads were very bad. House was ok but not totally cleaned. Dryer would not work. Beach is across the road. Eleuthera is very primitive compared to other Bahama Islands. We had a great time but house was average at best.

Paradise!
From the time we booked the reservation and even up until now, the owner and property manager have been nothing short of amazing. We booked this prior to COVID not knowing we would be where we are. The owner was super understanding and was going to let us cancel last minute for a full refund since a few of our friends were not able to come due to testing positive for COVID; however, our much smaller group decided to go on vacation anyways. And thank goodness we didn’t miss out on this! When we arrived at the property, Del (property manager) was there making sure everything was in perfect shape. Del was always a phone call or text away for any problems or questions came up. We ordered our groceries through the marketplace and had them prestocked (Del met them at the house which was so helpful). We stopped by the 700 Wines and Spirits to get our alcohol since it was cheaper than the marketplace (suggest using Governors Harbour location). We enjoyed all of our nights there since there was a 10pm curfew, so we could not have been anywhere more perfect. We had Chef Shauna come 2 out of our 4 nights; her conch fritters and bruschetta to start us off were amazing. She cooked us fried grouper and chicken the first night and steak and lobster the second night. Highly suggest these meals! We used Mr. Stanton Cooper’s car service the entire time we were there; Precious was assigned to us for the weekend and she was there whenever we needed her there. One thing we should have done was have more food at the house to cook, as riding into town was not cheap. You have your own beautiful, private beach—what else could you ask for?! All of the rooms were very spacious and had fans; the views from most of the rooms is absolutely incredible. It was very windy most of the time we were there, but once the wind settled down there were a lot of mosquitoes, so bring bug spray or purchase from the marketplace! We celebrated NYE and had dinner at 1648; this is an incredible place and we highly recommend going here for dinner! Try to make it before sunset, as we were sad we did not. Our group wanted to do a boat charter just to sightsee, so we ended up going with Captain Bubba from Fishbone Tours. He is so much fun! The only true hiccup we had during our stay was that the pool heater was not working and it only mattered because it was cold! Del tried everything he could but to no avail. Oh well! Everything else was spectacular so it did not dampen the fun. We will be back!

We loved staying at Windchat with our party of 10. The kids loved the sport court, pool & spacious bedrooms. Everyone loved our view of the Atlantic side of the island & our own little beach. The staff here is gracious & kind. Ken was amazing in response time & answered all our questions. Weather was iffy but we still had plenty of beach, boat & Junkanoo time! We hope to return one day.

Perfect Hideaway
We recently spent a week at Windchat Villas in North Palmetto Point. It is a beautiful property with two lovely homes. There were 9 people in our group and this place was perfect for us. Plenty of room for everyone and it offers complete seclusion. The beach is steps away and the pool view is incredible. The sunrise villa is the smaller of the two homes and has 2BRs + a loft. The sunchat villa has 3BRs and a huge kitchen/family room where we all gathered for breakfast and dinner. The rooms in this house are not connected in anyway, which makes for a hotel feel but you can't beat the privacy! It was like having a resort to ourselves. Del is the property manager and is an absolute delight. Very friendly, helpful and courteous. There were two ladies that took care of the housekeeping and they are both adorable young women. Took care of all of our needs! And Michael, who is the groundskeeper, brought up fresh coconuts while we enjoyed our time in the pool. The deck in front of sunrise villa is the best spot to view the stars at night...stunning view! We loved our stay at Windchat and would definitely come back!!!

The property has the most beautiful view and is perfect for us. We will go back. The house manager and all on the property were absolutely lovely. Ken is very helpful in planning what you want to do as well before you go and could not be more generous! Groceries are really expensive there so took extra suitcase with bagels, snacks, wine which was helpful! Definitely go to 1648 restaurant and eat outside! Amazing views. Can't say enough great things about the spot. Cheers!

Paradise
Neither the glowing reviews nor the pictures do this island spot justice! We (grandparents, adult kids and grandkids) travel together a lot and this was just what we were looking for. Property was perfect.... grandkids used the basketball/tennis court area every day and night(disappointed there were no tennis rackets) and rotated to pool and beach. While the rest of the family visited several other beaches and the ocean hole... which they highly recommend ... we, the grandparents, relaxed in paradise! Del, Millie and their helpers were available and ready to make everything work! We had Shauna cook for us two nights and she is a perfect gem... wouldn’t consider a visit without her. A recommendation....there are all manner of coffee machines in the villas but we didn’t find k- cups or Nespresso (original) pods so bring your own.... island coffee we found was only ok. And BTW.... the owner was incredibly responsive and so easy to deal with ... made the whole experience a dream. I’ve posted a lot of pictures on Instagram #windchatvillas so do check them out.

True paradise!
Pictures don’t do justice to this property. There were a total of 6 of us and we enjoyed every minute. We stayed 5 nights and never ran out of things to do or places to relax. The crew that maintains the property was wonderful and so friendly and helpful. I left a piece of my heart with Mellie the housekeeper. She was a joy with such a servant’s heart. Felix and Michael, the gardeners, even brought us fresh cut coconuts one morning so we could drink the coconut water. The only downside for us was that there were no tennis rackets available and we had looked forward to playing. As others have noted, bug spray for sand fleas is a must on the beach and around the pool but in no way spoiled our time with our toes in the sand. The views of the water were gorgeous. I will recommend Windchat Villas to anyone planning a trip to the Bahamas.

Wonderful Memories
We are a group of 10...aged mid-fifties to early 70's...all couples. In the last several years we've been traveling together and when it was time to choose a destination for 2019, my sister and I suggested Eleuthera because we were there about 35-40 years ago. After much research we found Windchat Villas. We arrived at the airport (ELH), got our rental vehicles, and met Del the caretaker of Windchat. We followed him 'home' for about 1.5 hours stopping for groceries and liquor in town. He was friendly, helpful, courteous, and made our stay perfect. When we arrived with luggage and groceries, the gardeners and cleaning lady, Millie, came to greet us and carried everything in for us so we could start our vacation. Since there are 2 homes on the property, luggage and groceries were carried back and forth until everything was in the right spot. The property is spotless thanks to the gardeners outside and Millie inside. The views are amazing and the pool area can't be beat. In my communications with Ken during the planning stages, his responses to my questions about everything from coffee pots to cake pans to pool floaties were answered promptly. When he found out that several of us are cooks he eagerly shared suggestions for local restaurants, told me about the grocery stores, and said everything we would need for cooking or baking is at Windchat. We were impressed with the quality of cookware, utensils, dishes, serving bowls / trays, etc. The privacy and safety we wanted came in our stay at Windchat. The week was spent exploring, cooking, baking, eating, swimming, drinking, and enjoying this secluded property. One day we took a boat to Harbour Island...about a 10 minute boat ride away, rented golf carts and did some exploring there. One evening a member of our group hired a local chef, Shauna, to cook dinner for us and it was wonderful. She grilled lobster, bar-b-que chicken, salad, a rice dish, macaroni and cheese, and a chocolate cake for dessert. It was heavenly. We all highly recommend Windchat Villas...and you won't be disappointed. Happy Travels, Marty, Tracy, Gary, Connie, Frank, Laurie, Dennis, Lucy, Bill & Linda

Like a mini resort tucked away in Governor's Harbour
Our extended family ranging from age 6-80 enjoyed this beautiful property. The views were amazing, and there was enough to keep us busy right on the property. It has tennis courts (the balls were a little flat, so bring your own if you're into tennis), a basketball goal (again, the ball was flat, but we found a pump in the Sunrise house toward the end of our stay), and a shuffleboard court. Be sure to bring bug spray! The kids and adults used the pool every day and pergola was nice and shady with a great view. We loved going out in the kayaks! We rented 2 more kayaks, plus 2 sets of snorkel/fins from Harbour Water Adventures. They delivered everything to the villa so it was waiting for us when we got there. There is a reef right off the beach and we saw plenty of fish. The rentals came with life jackets, and they delivered 2 more to us upon request. There are a couple of kids life jackets in the storage container by the pool, but no adult jackets, which I would recommend if you’re snorkeling or even kayaking out to the farther reef. We had Shauna cook for us twice. Her prices of $50/person seemed high, but we had enough left for dinner the second night, plus she set the table and cleaned up after us, and her conch fritters are AMAZING! Millie was there every morning to clean and she was wonderful. The kitchen is extremely well stocked - almost as well stocked as my own kitchen at home! Bring K-cups if you want to use the Keurig because they aren’t sold on the island. You also might want to bring other snacks due to the high prices; many things were 3 times as much as they are in the US. Gas was over $6/gallon. The water at the closest convenience store was $6/gallon, but it's $2-3/gallon at Burrows. (Del recommended that we not drink the tap water, so plan to purchase ice and water.) We ate at the Buccaneer and 1648 and both were very good, but I liked 1648 a little better. We rented a car from Stanton Cooper (a necessity on the island) and they met us at the airport and helped us to get in touch with Del, who had not arrived to meet us yet. One thing to note if you have younger children – the rooms in the Sunset home are only accessible from the exterior, so kids would need to walk outside to get to their parents room or the living room. The Sunrise home is more traditional with all rooms leading to the living area. I would definitely recommend this property, and have already told my friends that our next couples retreat needs to be here!

Fabulous property sits right above the most beautiful beach on the island. The accommodations were fantastic. The staff went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. The property is well maintained with a beautifully landscaped yard and garden. The basketball/shuffleboard/tennis court was enjoyed by all. Plenty to do, so that you never need to leave this property. Kayaking and good snorkeling are available right off the beach. This is the nicest place we have ever rented! Our 3 generation family of eight loved every minute. The only problem was running out of time to enjoy all the amenities. One tip for travelers: take some good bug spray to avoid the pesky bites.
