"We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "Third time we have stayed here which ought to say something. Very convenient for the A1 and the rooms are pleasant, clean and comfortable. As well as that the restaurant serve very good food at reasonable prices, as it was our final night of our holiday in Scotland and we were travelling home it was very welcome. Parking is convenient and close - just outside rooms. "

"Late arrival and early out but was still welcomed by Alice the owner. Breakfast was offered and even provided at an earlier time than normally given, for which I was very grateful. A great cooked breakfast kicked off my morning and soon I was on my way. This was a perfect location to break up a long North to South journey. Very pleasant indeed. Sad that I missed out on what looked like a super Chinese dining experience for an evening meal! And just a few mins of the A1M"
