"Greeted with a smile from the receptionist on checking in. She gave us all the relevant information related to our stay; restaurant opening times, leisure facilities and directions to our room. Room was clean and comfortable. Bar area was great, good selection of drinks, food served all afternoon and I presume into the evening too although we ate in the restaurant after 6. All the staff were pleasant and friendly! I would stay here again and hopefully use the pool as we didn’t this time. "

"We arrived late in the evening in a £15 Uber after a day at Trent Bridge. Quick, cheery check in. Quiet room, high ceilings, comfy bed, clean room, functional bathroom. Hot and cold choice at breakfast, lovely poached eggs. Shame you couldn't sit outside, but nice breakfast room. We had a short walk in the grounds to shake off a hangover, read a bit of the history of the place and then a quick check out!"

"This is a pub with an incredible range of cask beers (10) mostly from the Lincoln Green Brewery. The 3 I try ed were excellent. The hotel (pub) has a faded grandeur feel and is basic. This suits me down to the ground. They do not do breakfast so we went to Tesco opposite which has a good cafe. The ensuite room was clean and tidy and met our needs well. It is up two flights of stairs though, no lift, and is a rabbit warren. Parking is on street. Overall I liked it but posh it is not."
