We liked the location but there was a fire alarm on a Saturday morning. And it messed up our plans. Spoke to the manager and didn’t really do much to accommodate the inconvenience

The property is in a great area. Lots of things nearby to do. The rooms are small but clean, it was great coming back to clean towels each day. One issue for us was the elevator as it was kind of slow and we got stuck in it once. Thankfully the staff were so quick to respond and helped us. Another issue was the AC unit…. It’s loud. If you’re a light sleeper this might be an issue.

So during check in I swiped my card for incidentals ($200) and it said accepted. Then was told I had to do it again cause it didn’t work the first time but that was wrong and I had $400 blocked for my stay which they said o nothing we can do. Then first night, there was a fire. Terrified we all ran down the staircase filled with smoke to the basement where the fire originated and had to stand and wait for the firefighters to assess while we stood with the smoke. Then we were all across the street waiting, some of the fire engines left so we all went back inside to go to our rooms because we didn’t know what was going on to wait in long lines for the elevators which one would not reset so was out of order. Now I have asthma and the smoke caused me a tight chest and coughing and I had to take my pump (which affected me for 3 days in a row). So while I was standing waiting for the elevator coughing and in distress, the manager asked the crowd if anyone had told us what happened. We said no and he said o I thought the fire chief would tell you. We had a fire in the basement laundry dryer and were able to put it out. So technically you could have all stayed in your room, it wasn’t that bad. Now walking in the stairwell from the 17th floor, we walked through smoke and terrible smell and were terrified but he minimized the whole situation saying it wasn’t that bad and we should have stayed in our rooms despite the fact that there was smoke and the Smokey smell everywhere. Smh

Rooms are nicely done out but they are TINY!! Would be slightly better for 2 people with no / minimal luggage but it’s definitely too small for 3 people or multiple bags. We only booked this hotel for the room size that was stated the website when booking - this must mostly be the size of the bathroom as that was nearly as big as the bedroom.. so disappointing and misleading! You have to constantly move around luggage and their own furniture just to get to the bed.. Rooms are also really warm but the air conditioner is right next to and level with the bed so it freezes you to death if you put it on. And the cool air from the aircon doesn’t last so it’s warm again as soon as the aircon is turned off. So your options are to be too warm or too cold. Windows also didn’t open so you couldn’t cool the room down this way either. Only 2 small lifts - not the end of the world but had to wait for a couple to go by, especially with your luggage. Location was nice and convenient for Times Square, union square, grand central station etc. It was a quiet room which is a nice change for a New York hotel.

I loved staying at this property. It was very clean, the staff was nice and informative. There is an Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. You should make reservations just incase if you want to eat there. We were able to get a table without one though. Food was delicious. Time square and Rockefeller center as well as Bryant park are close by. Very walkable. There are also shops and other food places all over the area. I had a great time. It was my first time in NY and I have nothing bad to say about my stay.

This was a wonderful property to start. We stayed there 11/8/2024 and early morning of 11/9/2024 there was a fire alarm! All floors evacuated down the 21 floors and it was orderly and the man at the front desk was very helpful, calming and attentive! Even when he was verbally berated by one woman who was clearly stressed out, he handle it with grace and dignity!

I loved the private balcony and bathroom .. walking distance to everything .. my view wasn’t that great I was on 2nd fl.. maybe next time get a higher floor for better view … would definitely come back
