This my favorite hotel to stay at when i visit the city! From the amazing cookies on arrival to the comfortable beds! This location is right in the middle of all that i need. From Penn ststion. To Port Authority bus station. Even times Square! Hope to be back soon!

It's about 10 mins walk from Times Square and the Empire Station Building, and about 2 minutes from Penn Station so it is excellently centrally for the sights in Manhattan and transport and subway including JFK airport links. You can get to a lot of places within walking distance easily. But the downside of that is that it is on Eight Avenue and so it is not quiet. I was on the 17th floor (there are I think 28 floors) and could hear traffic noise throughout the day and evening, particularly when drivers sound their horns and starts off a chorus! This is not particularly disturbing for being in the room or sleeping, but if you are looking for a quiet hotel with no traffic noise, this isn't the one for you. It is brilliant for it's price and location for the sights but there is no escaping the location is noisy so be aware of it, not an issue with the hotel itself, it's where it is. I used earplugs for sleeping and did not get woken up in the night at all by any traffic noise so it is manageable. I travelled alone as a female and did not feel unsafe in the area at any point, even coming back after a show at night. Would recommend for it's location, but if you are concerned by noise and want somewhere quiet outside the hustle and bustle, then you really need to look at a different area of New York as everywhere in this location will be noisy from the traffic noise.

The view from the rooftop bar was amazing. It was also a very clean hotel. Empire view room was small but the view was great. Front desk guy Lorne was so friendly and helpful, we looked forward to passing through the lobby because of him. Doormen were friendly and did a good job of monitoring the front.

what would have been nice is to have somewhere that I could spend time with my family staying in another room. Although I didn't have any issues with the size of my room, it wasn't big enough to spend time in the hotel with my family.

We will definitely stay again! I can’t say enough about how welcoming the staff was during our entire stay. Edward was absolutely amazing, Tanika and Crystal were so sweet…all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The lobby is small but so clean and refreshing especially after a hot day walking the city. Subway stations are very close, Times Square is a 15 min walk…the location is great. Rooms are small…it is New York City, but our family of 5 made it work. Yes cans are collected in front of the building but no one bothers anyone. Yes the sprinklers turn on often but it’s quite genius because it keeps the homeless from sleeping on the benches. It’s a perfect place to stay while visiting the city!

I picked this property bc it was a short walking distance from Penn station and had a subway station a corner away. I knew heading in that it wasn’t the best area of town…I would describe it as a little gritty. Having lived in a city, I wasn’t fazed by it. Yes, there were a fair number of homeless people but I never felt unsafe (even as a female traveling with my teenaged daughter). It’s a crowded area however with a lot of tourist that are trying to get oriented, me being one of them. The staff at the hotel were very nice and we were always greeted upon reentering. I didn’t need their services other than to hold our bags, but I wouldn’t have hesitated to ask them for advice. They were friendly and personable. The room was small but fine for two people. Bathroom was very nice. I was happy with my decision to stay there and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

On the website it was written that there was parking, there is no access to park the car in front of the hotel to get down with your bags, you have to park on the side street and walk with your bags, terrible! the price of parking is very expensive!
