Calm, peaceful, excellent dinners and breakfasts. Loved the onsen bath in room overlooking the forest area with bamboo sculptures. Spaciousness of bedroom and not having to sleep directly on tatami mats! Thank you for spectacular stay!!
Hotel is stunning. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated. Food was spectacular. And the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay went smoothly and pleasant. Cannot recommend enough. Would definitely come back here.
Absolutely beautiful modern ryokan experience. Very quiet. Dining is in the restaurant, not the room, which is fine. Service is lovely by an international, less Japanese staff (needed as there are simply not enough people living on Naoshima to support the museum/tourism). We went in the summer raining season before schools let out, and it was very peaceful.
So beautifully minimalist, superb decor and amazing service from the staff. The sushi dinner was delicious. It was so easy to organise pickups and drop-offs.
These are first rate rooms and the whole area is beautifully designed. Excellent dinners but it falls short on the 'western' breakfast. Highly eccentric and should be removed or completely reworked. Very pleasant staff willing to shuttle you to wherever you like.
Dishes are delicious. The service of staff is good, some of them can speak English, so it’s good. However hot spa is not good enough. Actually it’s uncomfortable to use. Ah! Campfire is very impressive at night and the zen style garden is also nice,
The facility is beautiful. Could have been better with a public onsen or a real onsen instead of bathtub with onsen essence. Felt gimmicky serving tourists perhaps first time in Japan. Head chef speaks fluent English but did not interact with us. Attracts and gears towards foreigners. The walls between rooms are very thin, able to hear noise from both sides when sliding doors or playing music. For authentic Japanese ryokan, it did it felt like that.
Experiência incrível.
Voltaria com toda certeza.
Hospitalidade, disponibilidade, serviço, instalaçōes, apartamento e comida excelentes.
Minha única crítica é quanto ao horário restrito para café da manhã e jantar.
O café começa as 08hs apenas. No meu caso eles gentilmente anteciparam 15’.
E o jantar deve começar até as 19:30 pois se trata de um longo menu degustação.
Tirando esses 2 pontos, o Roka entrega uma grande experiência.
