The mighty Kjosfossen is one of many highlights on the Flåm Railway. The waterfall has a total fall of 93 meters and is only accessible by train. It is posible to experience Kjosfossen all year, which gives the traveler the opportunity to visit a roaring waterfall during summer and pass by a snow and ice-covered waterfall during winter.

"I came to Ulvik/Villavik to see where my ancestors once lived and to walk where they once walked. The Handanger Fjord and all areas surrounding are amazing! Vallevik Fjordhytter, our cabin on the mountain was charming and peaceful and everything one could want! Paul was there for us if we ever needed anything or had any questions, very kind! I would love to return some day and if I do I hope to stay here again."

"We have been to the cabin in Vallavik for a week at the end of August and enjoyed it a lot. It is a perfect place for excursions and hikes around the hardanger fjord. The view on the fjord and the bridge is really great."

The home is quiet and private, and all five of us enjoyed our stay. Even though the kitchen is a little snug, it had everything we needed to cook dinner. "Cabins are near the water. Clean. Towels and linen provided. Reception staffs were helpful and easy to deal with. Common toilets and showers are well kept. Common kitchen equipped with plates pans etc. "

"First off the hotel staff were wonderful. We had dinner there as well, it was delicious. The wine selection was great. The service was excellent. The sweet thing was that for breakfast.. they had set up the same table for us. Which was so thoughtful. The location of this hotel and UNESCO site was incredible. I felt such peace between the mountains sitting there on the water. Such a unique place.. for me anyway. Kudos! Thank you"
