"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"We had a lovely stay. We were made to feel welcome and our room was lovely. The only issue we had was the noise from neighbouring rooms walking about upstairs and locking/unlocking their door, downside of an older house."

"Friendly welcome, on arrival we were shown round, offered cakes, home made (free of charge). Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, all local produce. Accommodation excellent and the owners were very friendly."

"We had a beautiful stay at Sheriff Lodge. The room was spacious and comfortable and the entire lodge is well decorated with attention to detail including the music in the Drawing Room, information about the local area and amenities in guest rooms. Ziz was generous, helpful and knowledgeable and makes the most amazing breakfasts, as well as lovely coffee. The homely vibe makes the B&B unique and characterful. We would love to stay again"

"Hilary and Graham are very welcoming. We were contacted before arrival with directions. They even had a pot of tea ready when we arrived which was very much appreciated. A nice comfy bed and ample en-suite bathroom. The cooked breakfast was really good with homemade fresh bread!!! We will definitely stay again."

"I would highly recommend this accommodation option to everyone who wants to travel the peak district. The host is very welcoming and friendly. "We had a brilliant 1 night stay here on a weekend. The room we stayed in was fantastic,good size and had everything we needed,I wish we had stayed longer! The breakfast was already in the room which I actually really enjoyed,I couldn't believe the choice available,there was yoghurts,fruit,granola,a fresh loaf,porridge,cereal,milk,teas,coffee,hot chocolate, even some britvic orange juice. "Stayed here for 2 night's in June and loved it, the place is warm and welcoming, the bed was massive and comfy with plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. Shower was easy to use and very clean, definitely stay here again. Breakfast was freshly cooked and cooked how you like it, the host was friendly and veey helpful."

"I cannot recommend Marehay hall Farm and host Sharon highly enough. All of the the positive descriptions reviewing a B&B apply here. Whatever your expectations are they will surely be met and exceeded. If you are looking for a quiet oasis to relax and retreat from the hustle of daily life, this is it. The gardens are work in progress and offer the potential to make this a much saught after retreat location. Would we come back. Without a doubt! "

"Good convenient location in heart Sheffield. Stayed before, when new so looking a bit tired now. A great room with good facilities mini kitchen etc. Very comfortable, could be noisy as room this time on street level. But luckily a quiet street in Sheffield and a quiet Saturday night. "

Best Western Plus The Quays Hotel Sheffield

"Great stay. All the facilities we needed, well-equipped gym, clean pool, great location and very good breakfast. Hotel being renovated but we were there at a weekend so there was no noise or disruption. Will definately stay here again."

Setting the record straight

"I read previous reviews of this property and believe that they are, at least inaccurate but many were completely misleading. Our stay was comfortable, staff were extremely polite and helpful throughout. The Buffet Breakfast was of a good standard and the young lady serving it was also polite and helpful. Whoever put the review regarding Asylum Seekers is obviously unaware of Sheffield’s multi-cultural community. On further trips to Sheffield, my family and I will definitely avail ourselves of this hotel again. Thank you to the new management and all staff (especially Ajeesh)."
