Tom was so welcoming, he even let us hold one of his chickens! The house is beautiful and lived all the small touches like breakfast foods, butter and milk. We loved hanging out by the pool and chatting with Tom. Highly recommend this place for a weekend away!

A very nice place to stay in the country with cattle looking at you through the window.
A log burner fireplace added to to ambience.
Tom was a chatty person and mad us feel welcome.
The cottage was lovely, it was spotless and had everything you could possibly need or think of. Having breakfast included was an added bonus. Tom was lovely and welcoming. Will definately be back!
Place was lovely and quaint, very clean with new carpet throughout and new Lino in the bathroom. Tom is an lovely gent, very welcoming. Penny us also lovely. Great place to stay and not too far out of Greytown.
Fantastic place to stay. Thanks Tom for lighting the fire for us and making it toasty and warm to settle into. Lovely place to stay, comfortable bed and seating, great shower pressure, lovely outlook and private setting. Delightful to have breakfast out in the sun looking across the fields and watching the bird life. Nice and close for Wairarapa mini adventures and dinners. Thanks for a great place to relax and get away into the countryside.
Spent two nights as Tom’s guests in the Drovers cottage. Tom gave us a brief history of the place as we checked in. We had everything we needed and enjoyed waking up to bird calls and sheep in the pasture.
The property was better in real life than in pictures. Beautiful little cottage with all the amenities and hospitality to go along with it. Loved every moment of our stay with Tom. A gorgeous host would highly recommend and we will be going back to stay there again when we go back to NZ. We miss our cow wakeup in the morning..
What a delightful cottage in a peaceful setting. It was so cosy and welcoming with the fire roaring when we arrived. So quiet and dark at night, which is a must for me.
Tom is the perfect host. I'll be back to learn more about the history of the old hotel.
Thank you for the breakfast goodies.
We loved our getaway weekend at Drovers Cottage, a beautiful wee cottage with a gorgeous view out over the countryside. Far enough out of town to be away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to only be a short drive to the town centre.
Tom was just lovely, so welcoming and friendly, and the fresh bread and spreads were a lovely touch. We were very impressed with the rooster who waited until after 6am to sound his alarm clock :)
We will definitely be back to stay again.
Lovely and warm with a great supply of fire wood. Fresh home made bread on arrival and great selection of teas. Tom and Penny are great hosts and the historic cottage is very comfortable and quiet. Loved waking up to magpies and seeing a wonderful night sky. Very handy to Greytown and Martinborough and there’s a lovely spot by the river at the end of the road.
