Very Good

This was a lovely Inn located within walking distance of Montpelier's downtown historic buildings. The room we had was spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a continental breakfast. My only complaint would be the squeaky bed springs. The air brakes from trucks passing by during the night were loud, but we travel with ear plugs.
Very old property. Decor and furniture and fittings reflect this. Squeaky floors, no elevator, old windows. No AC. Could use a fresh coat of paint. Free breakfast just ok. Minimal offerings. The pizza restaurant attached was very good.
No ice machine. No refrigerator. Broken shelf in bathroom. Noisy air conditioner. Very cranky staff member who seemed inconvenienced by our presence (woman who set up breakfast buffet).
They had spacious parking on the premises. The neighborhood was quiet. The breakfast part of the B&B was continental. Packaged oatmeal, cold cereal, muffins, and bagels.
Smoke detector was beeping overnight. Nobody on site after 9PM to address. Our door didn’t shut well and we were unable to bolt the door.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
The inn is well located and easy to walk from.
Staff is lean and not particularly gracious.
Restaurant was closed the 2 days we were there.
First room /bathroom were very small and in general room sizes are pretty inconsistent.
We got a bigger room for the second night in the main building (yellow) . Much nicer and better decorated.
Expedia listed their room as a queen when it was actually a king. The owner said she had been trying to get Expedia to change the listing with no success Hopefully Expedia will talk to the owner and make that change.
The property has no right to be booking rooms with major renovations going on. Shabby and dirty common areas are off-putting. The check in person is unhelpful and not accommodating, given the conditions. Dreadful experience

Liked convenience for area, not much else for price
Beautiful historic building with antique furnishings. We had a large bedroom with a king sized bed. The room was clean and well appointed. The location was good as we could walk to the downtown restaurants. The reception was less than ideal. We surveyed both building before finding the checkin area that was unmanned. A sign indicated a phone number to call for service. The employee did come immediately but there was no greeting. She was helpful and gave us restaurant suggestions. Some signage might be helpful to let clients know where to checkin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
