"This property is a little gem 2 1/2 blocks from the ocean. The rates were very reasonable for a January visit. The entire place was very clean, with beautiful planters along the drive area, little seating area outside the rooms. My room had a portable fireplace but I believe many of the rooms have built-in fire places. It appears that this was an older business that has been very tastefully updated. Breakfast is available in the lobby . The lobby is small and it is best to take it back to your room. During the warmer months there is outside seating and fireplace on a patio. Service was excellent. Highly recommend staying here."

"The hotel definitely made our trip more enjoyable, checking in was very easy & the reception was very friendly, loved the restaurant options across the street, loved that it wasn’t a hectic busy area, the rooms were very spacious & comfortable made us feel at home, this was our 3rd trip to Monterey but 1st one at this hotel & we all agreed definitely staying at this hotel for all future trips to Monterey. "We stayed in one of the cabins. Very simplistic furnishings but plenty of room and very clean. It was quiet but for the heater which came on and off fairly frequently. Took us a bit to get accustomed to it but didn’t keep us awake. Parking tight at the door! Staff very friendly!"
