"We rented the cabin for an elk hunt we scored in unit 86. The cabin was the perfect size to base out of and had all the comforts of home with the beauty of the Sangre's and Hayden Creek. Loved our stay and will hopefully be back soon!"

"Rented the cabin for my anniversary weekend in November. We didn't see a single other person, which I enjoyed, but I'm sure it's a wildly different experience in-season. The stream and woods were right out our door, and we had some nice little walks. Looks like a lot of bigger hiking opportunities nearby, but we didn't go far. "We stayed at the Rustic Rook due to the proximity to Great Sand Dunes NP. It was extremely quiet, as it was during the week just after labor day -- only one other tent was occupied, which made it relaxing but also a little scary! We stopped in Alamosa for some easy dinner options, but the other couple staying at the time took advantage of the resorts option to have dinner items to grill. It was VERY windy and it rained off an on but the tents stayed dry inside and warm with the wood-burning...

"We booked this home as it is posted as being in very close proximity to the Great Sand Dunes. While the VRBO posting indicates the home is 4 minutes from the park, it is actually over an hour drive. We did have a fantastic time. The property was beautiful and clean with the exception of fruit and house flies in the main living area. I would recommend it as a great get away relatively close to the national park but be sure to plan accordingly."

"Beautiful home. Had everything we needed. The only negatives I would are there were TONS of waps around the outside of the home and inside of the garage. It made the area hard to use. The were wasp nests everywhere too. Water also had a bad smell."
