There are multiple check points to pass through and security guards patrolling the area at night. You will need transportation to get to the nearest town to do some exploring, restaurants and excursions but that was ok with me. I did not want to stay in the hustle and bustle of Sosua or Cabarete. "This is a beautiful property. Away from the noise of the city. We felt secure with the gates and the gate keeper.Cristian was the perfect host. I asked her to show me how to cook a Dominican authentic meal. She cooked the meal and was very patient with us. I watched and took pictures and then we all sat down in the beautiful dining room to the most delicious meal we had in Cabarete! "

"The property was very dirty. They did not give me the same property that I paid for. I paid for a property but the pool clean nice I got a third floor apartment that was dirty no hot water was very unsatisfied and disappointed"

"I went around in circles trying to find the property. I arrived at the airport in the middle of the night around 1:30am and try to call to get information on how to get to the property with no answer. The GPS took me to an abandoned property with a closed gate and no signs. I ended up renting a hotel. No one answer me and they did not refund my money. "

"The bed was like sleeping on cardboard. Other than that, it was a basic hotel style setup with them being very strict with tourists to make sure they can charge you for anything. The map shows another side of the hotel with an oceanfront pool that looks to be part of the same hotel but they said we couldn’t go there. They do allow you to stay on property til 2pm after checkout of your room, however, which was nice to relax in cabanas and not be rushed. "

"I had an amazing stay at this private residence in Santiago de los Caballeros! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and located in a peaceful neighborhood, yet close to everything I needed. The host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring I had all the comforts for a perfect visit. I especially loved the cozy outdoor space where I could relax after exploring the city. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a blend of comfort and convenience!"

"Nice apartment to stay"

"This is a great place to stay in Cabarete! Nice & clean, nice neighbors and very secure building. There are many things that are walkable from here; shopping, restaurants, bars, the beach, even groceries! The only drawback is no direct access to the beach, but a quick walk gets you there in no time."

"Staff is well mannered and willing to help. In fact, both the reception receptionist team and security staff made it a point to make my family feel well taken care of. "This was a last minute booking wanting to get away from snowy weather and my daily routines in the northeast. Emotions by Hodelpa was a great choice because of the all inclusive amenities plus quite good food choices including the main dining area and more exclusive restaurants like Amici (that I thoroughly enjoyed). The staff were always greeting us with ‘Hola’ and answering questions in multiple languages. It was a toned down and relaxing week for my spouse and me. What I truly enjoyed was the private pool (shared only with 4 rooms on the first floor). It was private, clean, and convenient to walk out my sliding glass door and pop into the pool multiple times per day. The location of this resort is about 3 miles to the historic center of town. I took a private tour to get the full story from a local driver. On another occasion, I walked to the Jumbo store (kind of like Walmart) about 2 miles away and then took a taxi back to the resort. The beach is cleaned daily from seaweed and refuse left over from late night parties or brought up from the ocean. Evening entertainment was free and quite fun. Okay, I over-ate but didn’t over-imbibe, not that the temptation wasn’t there. Back to the gym to lose those 5 extra pounds I put on. I’d recommend this place above many of the other choices in Puerto Plata."

"The staff was incredibly friendly and always ready to help. The day and night entertainment, along with social gatherings, made for a fun and lively atmosphere. There’s a wide variety of food and drinks available almost 24/7, catering to different tastes. While the rooms could use some renovation, the overall experience is fantastic. The beautiful beach and accessible pool add to the charm, making it a great relaxing place. Overall, it’s definitely worth it!"
