"Check in at 3pm but you can rest at the lounge area for drinks and ice cream. Walking to the Torri gate takes about 10-12min but lots of interesting shops to browse thru. The magnificent Torri gate is definitely worth seeing and you can go out at low tide. The miyajima JR ferry terminal is just across the hotel which made access easy. Dinner at hotel was buffet style , not say plenty food options but most items are done well. Same about breakfast too. You will not regret taking a room facing...

"The hotel was near the Itsukushima Shrine, just around 5-min walk. Although it's not near the ferry port, the hotel provided a shuttle service upon arrival and departure. "If you are considering splurging for a night here, do it. The staff is excellent and the room immaculate. Great soaking tub, free snack lounge & breakfast with delicious food. We will be back. It is also nice to have all the tourists leave and be on the peaceful, quiet island at night. "
