Good location, clean house, very good management
We stayed there with our two small dogs for two months while I was working in the area.
It was very refreshing to find a place where our dogs were truly "welcome", with no restrictions, as opposed to many places where dogs are "allowed" (read tolerated) then you are sent a list of restrictions after you make the booking.
The house is a true detached three bedroom house, in a well laid out cul-de-sac, so no worries about disturbing, or being disturbed by, the neighbors, or by traffic driving along the road.
The property is well laid out, with an enclosed rear garden and a good sized rear patio seating area, a modern bathroom and a fully working kitchen.
Parking on the narrow drive is not easy, as it is to narrow to open the car doors without risking hitting the wall, and the low adjoining wall was at risk of falling down, but most of the locals park on the road outside their house (the road is wide and designed for parking), so it isn't a problem.
The neighborhood looked a little neglected, but the locals were really nice and, as we got to know and explore the area, we realised that it was the way the local council have limited their activities (budget cuts) rather than a problem caused by the locals not caring about where they live.
There was no freezer at the property when we arrived (it said there was one in the description), but the agents organised a brand new freezer, which was delivered the very next day.
The agents communication was very good throughout our stay.
Downs Barn is a Great location for walking the dogs with lots of parks and open areas. There is also Gullivers World and Willen Lake within easy walking distance.
It is an easy and pleasant ten minute walk, through Campbell park or along the well laid out footpaths, to central Milton Keynes, where there is the shopping or the train station with a direct line to London.
The local CoOp (a few hundred metres away) covers more that the essentials, so very convenient.
There is a larger CoOp down at Heath Hill, along with an array of take-aways (Indian, Chinese, Pizza, Kebab) and a popular Pub serving food as well as drinks.
The main food shopping (Aldi, Asda, Tesco etc) are all a 10 minute drive away in a variety of directions.
Pros,
Detached.
Well equipped.
Good for commuting.
Lots to explore.
Cons,
Mattresses all need replacing.
The kitchen window looks directly onto the road and people would park up and stare in while we were using the sink or cooking.
