"Nothing like the pictures show. We book one of the nice new looking places and without mentioning anything to us, he gives us the worst room in accommodation history. We booked for 2 people, and it's a 1 bedroom room, but not just that, it honestly looked like it could all crumble in seconds. Seeing that room, which looked like it could be filled with rats, made us not even want to stay there even if he gave us the picture looking room, knowing how disgusting the owners kept it. "The hotel is conveniently located with in core city range with many walkable marts and shops. Family room with minimum required kitchen utensils was comfortable for family in case of light cooking in the dinner times. Dedicated tuk tuk driver in the doorstep is quick to understand our needs and took care of our local trips for very reasonable charges. Friendly staff and the pool area with sauna all good for family stay. "

"We very much enjoyed our stay at the Palace Gate Hotel! Our suite was huge and comfortable, with great views. The common areas are lovely. The staff were all super nice and helpful in the hotel (less so in the restaurant for breakfast). Communication was excellent starting even before our arrival. We would skip the breakfast buffet next time though, since the staff couldn’t care enough to keep hot coffee available, and the supposedly warm food was usually cold. "Older property with large spacious rooms. Good restaurant and bar. Considered an airport hotel but halfway to downtown. Not great location but we only used to stay one night then back to airport to head home. 15 USD cab ride or 7 USD tuk tuk. All staff try very hard to serve you well. "

"The Golden House International Hotel is an excellent family run hotel right in the middle of the Riverside action. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The appearance is Khmer rather than ‘international’ and the beds are a little firm. Bathrooms are old fashioned but perfectly functional. It’s not for everyone, if you’re looking for a quiet serene retreat this isn’t for you. But if you like night action and appreciate very good value, you can’t really go wrong with this hotel. "
