"Room was small but lovely and clean. The bed was comfy but the room was way too warm, you can’t control the thermostat. The en-suite was nice but only had a bath and was not made aware of this. The breakfast was so so, poached eggs were good apart from the bread was not toasted at all. The service was very quick and the staff weren’t very enthusiastic and didn’t really know the etiquette of whether you’d finished or not. The stairwell ran diagonally above the bed so every time someone walked up the stairs it boomed through just above your head. Hidden charges for using the gym. Main reception in a different building. "Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. "

"Horrendous journey to the Fox and Pheasant. Worried we would miss the dinner cut off time we called through. Been traveling for over 10 hours! No problem arrive very tied to a lovely bowl of soup. Feel in to bed and had an amazing sleep. Set off next morning after a fantastic breakfast and a lovely packed lunch. Defo stop off again"
