"We really enjoyed staying at this property. The staff were all kind and professional. The room was well-appointed, and we enjoyed the VIP food credit. The gym facilities were nice, and we also enjoyed our massages at the spa. We would definitely return. Proximity to both Carmel by the Sea and Carmel Valley village were nice. Morning walks and runs from the property were also nice. "

"This hotel is centrally located if you want to explore Big Sur. You get free access to 3 state parks in the area if you stay here, which is nice. It's about 1 hour each way from Carmel, tho. I had a room with a fireplace and they delivered wood daily. The room was thoughtfully arranged and accessorized with games, electric outlets, mini-fridge, extra towels & blankets, etc. Friendly, clean, close to well maintained trails. It was wonderful to be able to disconnect from city life for a few days. Loved it. Will be returning."

"We had a one night stay here last weekend. We were very warmly welcomed and were given detailed instructions on the services and directions to the room we chose. It was quiet but very convenient as there were many restaurants just 2 minutes drive away. Honestly, before choosing this place to stay for our trip, I read the comments from many other guests about this place. There were quite a few mixed opinions about the service, the rooms were not well soundproofed, etc. So when I arrived here I was a little worried because I had experienced a place where they were not enthusiastic in their work as well as treated me with racial discrimination. However, I was very happy and felt very peaceful when Carmel Valley Lodge and Resort was very warm in their service and professional in their business and treatment of their customers. We were so happy to wake up one morning in their breakfast room, a woman welcomed us very enthusiastically and prepared simple but nutritious dishes for us. We had a trip to explore the beautiful coastal roads and had a peaceful and comfortable place to rest. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, prepared the bedroom, and served us a delicious breakfast at Carmel Valley Lodge and Resort."
