"We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. We were left in the typhoon with nowhere to go and struggled to find anything for hours during when the weather got really bad. "Hotel was opposite Kumamoto castle, easy walk. Access to hotel was easy by tram from the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was very clean and had everything needed. I had view of Kumamoto Castle from my room which is awesome however you can go to the rooftop for amazing views of the castle also. I had the whole rooftop to myself to enjoy the beautiful night view of the area. Everything was walkable - food, castle, transport. Highly recommend."
