NB Linen is not included!! $15 extra per person, per stay, if you require towels, top and bottom sheets and pillowcases. Plenty of blankets and duvets. A private sunroom with pullout couch, plus another pullout sofa bed in kitchen/family area and also in lounge, make up sleeping arrangements for large numbers. ELLSTONE is a spacious farm house with all the comforts of home offering 3 ensuite rooms and 3 living areas, 2 log fires, plus heat pump. Private outdoor Spa (only onlookers sheep, or cattle) and large sunny decks. Exhale, and do nothing! Peace and beauty abound on this 900 acre sheep and cattle farm. Beautiful views of rural Wairarapa from the top of gentle rolling hills. A great walk .A short drive to Vineyards, Restaurants, Golf Course and Brackenridge. 4km drive from the Square. Tea and Coffee is included, plus sugar, flour salt,pepper, but all other food and drink needs to be brought with you.
Ellstone is an operating farm, activity can sometimes be operating closeby, and the private self contained attached flat may be occupied, by Louise, our Caretaker. Your privacy is assured, she will ensure your personal space.
Please leave the property and spa as found. A pet must have it’s own bed and be supervised at all times please.a $20 per night fee applies

We recently stayed at this rural property and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the house is spacious, family-friendly, and offers plenty of room to gather and relax. It’s ideal for larger groups in theory and has a lot of potential. However, there were several issues that impacted our stay. The property is advertised as having 5 bedrooms but only has 3, which was disappointing and misleading. Despite trying to contact the property owner twice by phone and once via email to address this, we received no response, which was frustrating. The cleanliness also left much to be desired. There was a noticeable buildup of dust around the beds and throughout the house, which triggered asthma attacks and allergies in 6 out of 8 guests during the night. Additionally, the linens were not properly cleaned, with small hairs and fibers on the bed sheets. Overall, while the property’s size and setup are great for families, the lack of cleanliness, misrepresentation of the bedroom count, and poor communication significantly detracted from our experience. A deep clean and better attention to detail could make this property a much more enjoyable stay.

Amazing property in a pretty special spot! The house was tidy and had so much space. Great to be able to sleep lots of people and actually have the living space to handle the numbers. It would be nice if the cost of linen was included in the overall price as this almost caught us out.

this was a great place for our family - plenty of space, exploring the farm, putting up a slack line, walking on the farm, playing spotlight, toasting marshmallows and wallowing in the spa. And exploring the vicinity - the seal colony, cycling.

Good Place for large Groups
We stayed with 12 people for the weekend and the place was a great size and close to Martinborough for the group. There were a few issues such as some broken glass in the lawn, hearing rats in the wall most of the night, the spa pool being different than pictured (more inflatable than a standard permanent spa pool that it looks like a photo is taken from in the listing), and not having quite the right amount of bedding after paying for it separately. Also got asked after our stay if we had taken 20 dinner plates when the host just hadn't checked the other cupboard where there is a note saying it's where extra plates were stored, which was a bit odd not to check first. None of which affected our ability to have a good time, cook nice food in the kitchen, and enjoy the space. Really convenient location for enjoying what Martinborough has to offer.
