"I highly recommend Greg as a host and Villa Almendro as a comfortable place to stay in Santa Teresa. If you want to be close to the beach, shops and restaurants, without being smack in the center of town, you won't find a better location. "We couldn’t be happier with our stay at Down By the Sea with Heike and Hans as our welcoming hosts. The location is picturesque and is the perfect secluded beachfront hideaway where you can unplug. Very clean and we had everything we needed. We are already hoping to return soon."

"The best part of our stay was the communication with Kristi, the owner. It began before we even arrived. In fact, she helped us with our ferry booking so we had a ticket when we arrived at the ferry terminal. As I told her, I’ve never experienced an owner sharing olf their time as she did. "We could not be any happier, this was the best location, close to the beach, great pool area to relax in a shady spot for peace and quiet. The rooms and room service are 5***** clean and fresh, smells amazing. The staff is incredibly helpful and so friendly. We felt like we were family. Look out for the two resident iguanas. "

"It was a beautiful property! Like a treehouse tucked away in the jungle, but right on the main strip 5 mins across the street from playa Carmen. Close to great cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores. Our check in process went smoothly and the private family room was perfect, except that we noticed quite quickly the AC wasn’t working on the 2nd level in the bedrooms. The staff were so kind and quick to work hard and fix it by the time we went got back for dinner. 10/10 customer service. Would absolutely stay here again!"

Hotel Casa Chameleon Mal Pais - Adults Only

"Beautifully appointed rooms with private plunge pool and view of ocean. Staff very courteous. Breakfasts included in rate were excellent. We ate dinner at the hotel most nights for convenience and because the food and service was good. The main drawback of this hotel is that it is too far away from Santa Teresa and the main beaches to walk so you need to book taxis ( $20 each way), rent an ATV or rent a car. "

"This property is large and beautiful! Well taken care of! The pool is wonderful too! Great place to stay with the family or as a couple. Only note is if you stay in a villa, request one a few up the hill. Unless you are there for the party and to stay up late. The music sounds great, just goes late."

"Fabulous location and beautiful grounds! Walking distance to excellent restaurants, grocery and right on prime area of the beach. Food is fantastic and all staff were all wonderful and helpful. Beware of the "standard garden rooms". They are right on road--no protection from street noise:( Bathrooms are dated, but rooms in general are comfortable. Good place to stay."
