"This hotel is very conveniently located in the city center. It close to the waterfront, Gaya street Friday and Saturday night and Sunday markets, convenient stores, laundry, and restaurants. The rooms are clean, and the staff is just awesome! The staff is very responsive, gave great city, food, and travel recommendations, and were accommodating. For the price, location, and friendliness of the staff, you cant go wrong staying here!"

Inspect the kitchen utensils, the water filter is leaking, the dish soup is non-existent, the drying rack left in the kitchen cupboard to house insects, the living room sofa leather was teared apart. The amenities advertised includes water bottles, but when asked for it from the staff on site, it’s not provided as complimentary. "Not a nice experience to only found out that there is a cleaning fee compulsory to be paid separately after checked in. It felt like a trap. The fee should be clearly indicated or included in the final price when making payment. "

"The holiday home is located in the hill. It is quite spacious and reasonably maintained. However as it is in the hill insects are an inevitable sight (ants, mosquitoes, etc.) esp in open areas, but it's tolerable inside the house. Service was good, as a large group we really enjoyed ourselves gathering in the living room area. However, it's relatively inaccessible (taking taxi from town centre to the holiday home costs around RM15-25, and a lot of taxi drivers do not know the place so I'd...

"Location was great- right in center of town. Room and bathroom was not clean and smelled like mildew. Very poor ventilation in my room which did not have a window. I saw black mildew on the ceiling of both the room and the bathroom. Sheets had yellow stains and bed was old. I did not feel comfortable staying in the room because of the mildew, smell and how unclean it is. Wifi was super fast. Staff were very nice. "

"What a DEAL!! An incredibly nice, clean, centrally located modern hotel at such a low price - and that price included an all-you-can-eat Chinese breakfast buffet each morning. On-site gym and outdoor pool, on-site convenience store, on-site restaurant, shuttle service to the 3 major shopping malls, on-site laundry service, and a huge, well-furnished, well-kept hotel room with all the modern-day amenities I needed. I HIGHLY recommend the Ming Garden Hotel is/when you're visiting Kota Kinabalu."
