This was our second time enjoying this property and its spectacular views of the Hudson River. The home is very comfortable, with a spacious and well-appointed kitchen and wonderful beds and linens. It's a quiet neighborhood and easily accessible. Just right for rest and relaxation!
We had a great stay at this house with our family (2 adults and 2 teens). Lucas was very responsive and the views are fabulous. We loved watching the big boats on the river! Would definitely stay again.
Watching the traffic up and down the river, the water fowl and the fauna, the light and all things natural was mesmerizing in this little boathouse, aka slice of heaven. This place is special beyond words. I'm so grateful for the time we had here. Perfection.
Such a great property! You can’t be closer to the Hudson river unless you were floating on it! Great windows and patio views of the river, peaceful quiet surroundings and everything you would want in a get away property - fire place, gas grill, outdoor eating and seating, fire pit and S P A C E! Would definitely recommend!
Every day is a beautiful day in the Hudson River Houseboat. You can watch the sun rise or watch the clouds roll in, it's all beautiful from the comfort of this home which blends into the natural surroundings. There's so much to see and do in the Catskills, in town or just staying inside. It's an all season winner with a great owner who has thought out your needs, very responsive! Many thanks for sharing this home!
It is truly a boathouse on the very edge of the river. Panoramic windows gave us spectacular views and let in the morning sun which warmed the whole house on chilly late November mornings.
We really appreciated the well equipped kitchen --especially the Mixmaster and Cuisinart -- the former we used to make bread every day.
The exterior sliding glass doors and casement windows are showing their age and need careful handling -- but this did not affect our enjoyment.
For this vacation we were looking for a place where the scenery came to us, and we could just relax, not feel like we had to spend every day out, "seeing" something. The Boathouse was perfect for that.
The living/dining area provides a view of approximately 16 miles of The Hudson river. We could check an online maritime traffic tracker to see what was heading our way, and/or use it to identify most commercial ships and many private boats that passed. And the upper and lower decks are great for watching them go by. Being October, our view across the river included colorful fall foliage in addition to the Amtrak trains heading north and south.
The Boathouse is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Beds and (inside and outside) furniture are very comfortable. Lucas was immediately responsive when we had a question. We hope it is still available for another stay in the future.
The house is a great midcentury modern right on the river. The huge front windows look out at boats, trains and weather. We saw some exquisite fog as well as fall colors and even J. J. Rowlings' megayacht the Ariva. We were comfortable and happy with great bed and bath linens, wonderful kitchen and so many fantastic books. We loved it! Lucas is a responsive host and we lacked for nothing. A great 5 day stay.
We truly enjoyed our week at this clean, well equipped house right on the Hudson. Beautiful views from the upper level living area and both the upper and lower decks. You can enjoy the views from the upper bedroom and one of the lower ones also! Very relaxing, we loved both the fire pit and the fireplace. So much fun to watch the boats, trains and even a float plane from the decks. Easy drive to eating and attractions. Would stay again.
A comfortable stay in a beautiful location. Slight problem checking in because internet was unplugged so combo lock programming was off but I was able to reach owner who provided another code. Owner was responsive throughout stay. We enjoyed the Catskills and would definitely return if we have the opportunity. Thanks Lucas!
You can’t beat the views from this lovely place. It was well-stocked with everything we needed to make for a relaxing stay and eating in. The owner was super responsive to all our questions and needs. Definitely recommended if you love looking at and listening to the sounds of the water!
The 180 degree views of the Hudson from the 2nd level’s floor-to-ceiling windows are EXQUISITE! We felt as if we were living on a houseboat— without the motion. This house is a gem and an excellent home base to travel to Woodstock, Kingston, and beyond. The village of Saugerties is minutes away, with charming shops and restaurants.
The location on the river is as amazing as it looks in the photos. Everything with the house was in good order and very comfortable, and Lucas was great responding to questions before and during our stay. Options for grocery shopping and some dining within 15 minutes drive are extremely solid - not plentiful, but high quality - and there's some awesome outings both near (the lighthouse, maybe ten minutes away) and far (mountain hiking 45 minutes to an hour away).
If you're sensitive to cold weather putting a touch of chill into the indoors, dress appropriately. Bring slippers for being on the first floor, which has concrete floors, and be aware that the large windows which provide those awesome views also transmit a touch of the outdoor cool when it's in the low 50s and below. This is totally normal; the house is in great shape. We didn't use the fireplace or set the heat above the low 70s.
House is very well stocked and the view of the river is amazing. My family spent a week enjoying the river view, which was frozen during my stay, and we did some stargazing on a clear night. Lucas was very quick to respond when I had questions. It was a great stay and would definitely return.
What an amazing house and location! Absolutely hypnotic views of the Hudson River with tidal changes, beautiful sun and moon rises, huge barges with tugboats 80 yards from the window and even a bald eagle gliding outside. Very quiet and private.
Location directly on the Hudson River, hearing the water, was a great! Layout perfect for our needs, as our adult son, wife and 7 month old on the first floor. Thanks Lucas for everything!
Thea boathouse is lovely, immaculate and spacious! Perfectly situated on the water (literally) of the mighty Hudson with the best viewing decks anywhere! Watching the barges drift by was a scene we’ll never forget, owner is trustworthy and communicative 24-7, I recommend!
The majestic Hudson River is the leading feature for this property. The natural features -sunrise, birds, tides - and the human generated features - ships, tugboats, kayaks - offer continuous enjoyment. The property itself was well appointed and very clean. We hope to return.
The view from the Boathouse was wonderful - RIGHT on the river! While enjoying one of the three patio options, the sounds of the river were so relaxing!
