"The hotel is on the edge of the city center and only 2 blocks from the ocean. You would have to walk about 20 minutes for a small beach or drive 20 for a nicer beach. I rented a car and drove all over the island. Maria at the front desk was very helpful. Parking is hit or miss aw far as street parking. "Amazing property with amazing staff. My family of 5 had a private ground floor villa with its own pool. It was very large, super clean, well decorated, and had everything we needed, including complimentary water, raki, pasteli and juice. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants, beaches etc. Staff were very friendly and offered their advice and services throughout. Highly recommend and would come back again. Thankyou for the parting gifts also."

"The house is located higher above a smaller local beach (which never got busy) and afforded great views over the area. Whilst the house is lovely, the outdoor space really sets the accommodation apart. There are a number of different veranda’s and seating areas which allow the outdoors to be utilised throughout the day. We loved it. We explored the East of the island, and the house location proved to work really well for that. We would not hesitate to return. Many thanks."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Rafkos mansion. Stelios the owner took us wherever we needed to go and we had delicious meals at one of the local restaurants. It would be wise to have a car because it’s in a village about 30mins. from Heraklion. Stelios is the definition of Greek hospitality! "

"We have just enjoyed 2 weeks at the lovely villa Stella hosted by the very helpful and friendly Alexandros. Immaculately clean and with the basic supplies, coffee, tea, bread, home grown grapes, bread and salad ready and waiting for us on arrival. We were even treated to a bottle of the owners own grown olive oil. Simply couldn’t ask for more. The road to the house is very steep so a good car is essential. Would definitely recommend. "
