"This place was the perfect first spot for our trip to the Big Island. Heidi and Dan were incredibly welcoming, expressed curiosity about us, and Heidi provided delicious breakfasts each morning. "We had a great time and would definitely return. Our room was a little outdated but it was clean. The housekeeping was excellent. Location was fantastic. Could easily walk into town. Parking was good. Was upset the lagoon was not open to swim. Luau was great. Our room had a good view of the wster. Wish the chairs on balcony were more comfortable. All in all it was fantastic."

"Nice little place in very good location. 50 yard walk to water front Alii Street full of good restaurants. Very popular place. Would have been nice to have a table to eat at. I always found a place to park but parking is difficult. It is what it is. There was a $270+ fee added to my charge that I was not made aware of at time of booking. Otherwise it was a pretty inexpensive place to stay in an expensive destination"

"Mostly very clean, except sliding glass doors. Would have cleaned myself but no cleaning materials on site. Wanted to love this place. We have stayed in other units but were delighted to find a first floor unit. The good: well equipped, comfortable, plenty of towels, and beach stuff. Nice patio area. The bad: communication was awful. Don't know if the problem is with the owner or RedAwning. Hotels near Other Kailua-Kona Attractions

Manini'owali Beach at Kua Bay, part of Kekaha Kai State Park, is another of the very pretty Hawaii Big Island beaches, with fine white sand that slopes gently to the beautiful clear turquoise water. The swimming here is awesome when the ocean is calm, and there can be some decent snorkeling along the rocky outcroppings at either end of the beach.

During certain times of the year, particularly the summer months, the beautiful soft sand covers the entire beach from north to south. More lava rocks become exposed in the winter months as sand is carried out with the surf. Be aware of those rocks in the shallows when boogie boarding or body surfing. This is a good place to have water shoes to navigate across the rocks.
Manini'owali Beach is one of the nicer Big Island beaches that is easy to reach from Kailua-Kona. You can practically drive right to the beach, and some days it seems everyone on the Big Island knows it! If you arrive later in the day, parking can be a little crazy, especially on weekends. As you approach the beach you may see cars lined up down the road. You may have to walk down the road a bit but don't worry; there's plenty of room on the beach!

There is a rocky shoreline trail at the northern end of the beach that leads to another of our favorite Hawaii beaches, spectacular Kikaua Beach to the north. The trail winds through a lava field and across a coral beach less than a mile to scenic Kikaua Point.

"We stayed here 8 days. The place was very clean and nice accommodations. We liked that it was close the Kona airport. Nice location to go anywhere on the island from. Even had ocean views. The front bedroom has a window ac unit (though you rarely need it). The other bedroom has blackout shades. The unit has Jalousie windows (very common in Hawaii and tropics). We just opened them up and let the breezes do there thing day and night. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, plus they provided free standing fans too, though we didn't need them. Kitchen has most everything you need (stove top "no oven") to make meals. Lots of storage and hanging closets rods. Be patient when wanting to use hot water for shower and washing dishes. It takes almost 2 minutes for hot water to come out of the shower, but it will be hot. Water heater must be located along ways a way. If you are a light sleeper bring ears plugs. The jalousie windows don't block the sound. There are a lot of birds calling through out the day and occasional traffic sound. A couple of the jalousie windows we could not get to open. We would not hesitate to rent this place again. "

Clean well-stocked apartment

"We loved our stay here! The space was clean and had everything we could have needed. The hosts have thought of everything with a well stocked kitchen, soft towels, beach gear, towels and more. We loved drinking coffee on the big deck. Other reviews had us a little concerned about being woken up by roosters, but we closed the windows at night and turned on sound machines (one they provided and one we brought) and it wasn’t a problem at all. Would definitely stay here again!"

Last Family Vacation with just us.

"We recently took a special family trip—our last vacation with just us before our daughter fully embarked on her new journey as a military spouse. Though her husband couldn’t join us, this trip was a meaningful way to cherish our time together.The house was absolutely incredible, with breathtaking views that exceeded our expectations. We only wish we had more time to soak it all in! Communication with the property manager was seamless. During our travels from Oahu, a tropical storm grounded all inter-island flights, causing unexpected delays. Despite this, the property manager went above and beyond, ensuring everything was ready for our late arrival so we had no issues settling in.We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this property. We can’t wait to return!"

"But totally adequate for a place to clean up and sleep at the end of the day. You get what you pay for... we were looking for something 'reasonable' and with the conveniences of home as we like having a fridge, stove and laundry. I will check to see if it's available next time we head to the island!"

Excellent Host and very good location

"Janie was very responsive to our needs and responded to our minor questions quickly. Location is convenient for driving to many places on west side of the island. The street is a bit noisy in the morning but the birds singing help make up for that. Great views and places to be outside. I would definitely come back."
