"Loved the resort. We stayed in the Beach Junior Suite which was very close to the beach. The room is large and quite with a great bed and shower. The resorts grounds are well kept. The dining area is right on the water with fantastic views and accommodating staff. The food can be better, but that was our experience in all of Tanzania so can't fault this resort for it. "

"We have just had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is huge but so tastefully done and built in a way that if you want to find quiet you can, if you want beach you can, if you want activties there are many on offer, it has something for everyone. The rooms are lovely and it is incredible to believe that you are in a country where so many people do not have power in their homes or running clean water and yet this hotel has 3 beautiful and immaculate pools, as well as numerous rooms...

"The food, the service and the amenities were very good. It is a beautiful property and the staff are so helpful. There was some noise from the construction next door but we didn’t really notice it very much. The company running the diving and snorkeling excursions on the property were very organized and professional. There was entertainment 2 of the 4 nights we stayed. "Beyond a beautiful setting, the staff and service make Mvuvi very special. Everyone is kind and helpful — including the drivers they use. "Staff seemed unhappy Although the advertisement says non powered water sports are included that is not true. It is a hike to do anything from the hotel such as boring diving, tours etc Everything is at least an hour away. High tide eliminates the beach. Low tide brings droves of annoying “beach boys” selling everything- they are very persistent and will kill your desire to swim in the sea. Hoses on the beach look nice but know what they will leave behind - nothing done to clear that"

"This a great hotel, suitable for those on a budget. It is really laidback and peaceful and great for anyone looking to get away from the stresses of everyday life. This is the second time my husband and I have used this hotel and since our last visit there is a welcoming new reception area. The rooms are clean and spacious. Would recommend this hotel to others. "Horrible experience. In 20 years of travelling everywhere in the world I never had a such disappointing experience as in this hotel. The staff is rude, and they stole my sunglasses that I left in the hotel lobby. The Italian manager claimed that cameras were not working and that they were only able to see the recordings from Stone Town where is situated their headquarter. "This beach front resort is absolutely beautiful. Ana greeted us warmly at the reception desk. Our room was very spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! It was nice to have breakfast and lunch included in the price. We appreciated having the opportunity to change the set menu for dinner if we wanted. The Masai security workers deterred solicitors while lounging on the beach at the resort. I highly recommend this resort."

Good - and not so good

"+ The hotel is placed in the middle of everything, the room was nice and had lots of space and a great balcony. The madrass were very good and aircon/fan was working around the clock, so the room was always in temperature. All the pools were perfect. - I would have loved to know - in advance- that my room was placed in another building, as I travel alone. At breakfast my table were cleaned (even for food) and my table given to someone else when I was getting a refill. The breakfast were good, but food "a la carte" was no good"
