"The location and grounds around the giant rain trees. The size, style and cleanliness of the room, the breakfast and most of all the amazing staff. The lady that checked us in and took us to our room, the front desk and bell staff, the restaurant staff were all top notch. Although Marriott owns the hotel you get Asian style friendliness and service vs. the "service" you get from Marriott in the US. The the hotel was obviously designed and built before Marriott got involved. The front desk staff set us up with some great drivers/guides that drove all around the amazing region. Although it is a quiet river setting you are only minutes from town via TukTuk or private car. The fare to the airport about $2.50 and although the airport is close, flight noise was not an issue. Even at resort prices which probably double the in town prices food and drink were delicious and still much less than what you would pay for average food in the US. We stayed a few extra days and were upgraded from the normal mega room to the super mega room. The contemporary style is out of Architectural Digest and unlike some even 5 star room there were no rough edges or signs of wear in our room. The 3 level infinity pool with the infinity river lagoon pool and then the river with all the landscaping. You need to visit there to appreciate the design, attention to detail and superb maintenance. Even the maintenance stop there work to greet you. DON"T LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE IN CHIANG RAE!"

"I truly enjoyed everything about the hotel and we had a wonderful time. I am Canadian visiting family in Thailand. My nephews age 5 and 12 also joined us for the visit at the hotel to enjoy the pool and children’s play area. Everything was beyond my expectations. "

"Very good stay. Clean and everything near by. We carry little clothes so the coin laundry across street was awesome. 7/11 near by and at least 2 restaurants on same block. Felt very safe. Recommend you go see lalita cafe. Don’t leave Chiang Rai without see that cafe. Staff and service was great. "

"This hotel is a five-star hotel. The room is large. They automatically upgraded me to a one-bedroom suite from a Deluxe double. The rooms were outstanding with all the amenities. There was even dishes and utensils if you were to cook. That may only be in the suites though.The lobby is a massive affair with water and a juice put out shortly after the morning. You can relax in their excellent sofas and chairs. The lounge is pretty good. It is very large and has the appearance of being a library which makes it quite relaxing. The morning breakfast was over the top also. Many excellent choices along with an omlette station for scrambled or omlets. There were so many choices that you might even to choose to eat what many would consider brunch with breakfast items and lunch items. There were plenty of choices for the Thai and other Asians which prefer soups and noodles with rice in the morning. Several soups were available every morning. You can have your expresso drinks along with coffee, water and juices. Outstanding!"

"This is truly a five star resort. The rooms and every part of the resort are spotless and the staff goes out of their way to handle every request and follows through on everything. Good breakfast in the morning. The surrounding area does not have a great deal of business but if you are OK with that you will absolutely love this resort."

"Grand Vista is away from downtown on a busy road, although the traffic noise wasn’t apparent in our room or at the pool. There’s a large modern mall across the highway, accessed by a foot bridge, with food courts, restaurants, grocery store and shops. The old city is a short Grab ride away. Our room was large, clean and serviced daily. A very enjoyable staff."

"Beautiful hotel. Wonderfull park. Very relaxing. On the river. Excellent restaurant with reasonnable prices. We had lunch and diner every day. The staff was friendly and kindly. The swidish general manager was lovely. 20 mn away from the center by walk, but not a problem with the Bolt application: less than 100 bahts to go (less than 10mn) Wonderfull villa with swimming pool. Certainly the best hotel in Chian Rai."
