"Came a bit early but could check in early. Room was perfect , and had a sea view.. Breakfast was very good.. Evenings after 22.00 were quiet although dogs nearby started their 'orchestra' every evening around 17.00. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful especially the receptionists. They even arranged a lovely lunch packet as we had a very early flight back. This was a cozy down to earth hotel."

"We chose this property for it's location and it was perfect for being in the heart of the old city and close to what we wanted to do / see for our short stay in Funchal. We arrived on a late flight and reached the hotel about 1am (took the Aerobus for 5e it worked great). The man at the hotel reception was wonderful - kind and generous. The room was clean and basic. It's recently renovated / updated. Our only complaint is the area has several Poncha bars and it appears they are open all...

"We stayed for 8 nights and loved the accommodation. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. We loved the jacuzzi and the parking facilities. We will come back whenever we can. Thank you very much Santana in nature B&B"

"Cute houses with a wonderful garden! The house is quite dark and humid, hence humidifier is always on; also requires some renovation. Basic breakfast though served nicely. Did not have much interaction with the host. "

"Peaceful stay amid lovely Asian themed tropical gardens, dining room, outdoor lounges and guest room. Great sunset view from our room although up 3 flights of steps - this property could be difficult if you have mobility issues. Very good breakfast buffet and there is also a cocktail bar which also serves pool snacks (we were cooked for on our first night as well - friendly staff made it clear they would try and meet such requests where reasonably possible). "We had a wonderful 11 days stay in Madeira. The apartment was fabulous, with everything we needed for our stay. The location is stunning with amazing views. The local apartment manager dropped in to introduce himself just after we arrived, and he was very helpful when the hot water ran out due to the cloudy days.All in all, a perfect location. out iintrowhen we arrived "

Great hotel - faultless

"Honestly, I thought this hotel was great. I enjoyed my room: clean, with a great shower and it had the benefit of a fridge and a balcony with sea-view. The daily room service was also appreciated. The hotel's team members were friendly and efficient. It had a decent in-house restaurant, but there was also the option of walking for no longer than 10 minutes to get to other restaurants. Good sized pool(s) with plenty of seating. "

"This really is a 'leading hotel of the world'. I've been privileged enough to stay in some top hotels around the world and this was one of my favourites. Pristine inside and out. The pool area is stunning. Great bars and dining options. I liked the Galaxia Sky Bar which has fantastic views. Within a very short walk there are some nice restaurants and bars around the hotel. Fantastic breakfast with a huge choice. We had one of the Ocean View rooms on the 10th floor. It's soundproof and super quiet and we weren't disturbed by any noise. Beautiful room, well appointed. I have two minor niggles which are by design. Firstly the air con turns off if you open the balcony door. This is normal but annoyingly it doesn't come back on when you close the door (you need to switch it back on manually at the wall controller). Also I like to be able to find my way to the bathroom in the night but couldn't leave a light on. This is because theres a glass wall between the shower and bedroom. The curtain covering it lets the light through from the bathroom so it's too bright to sleep (we resorted to leaving the vanity mirror turned on and pointing it in the opposite direction). The staff are super friendly and the service is excellent. We hope to return to Funchal in the future and will definitely stay here again if we do."
