The owner might think about repairing the cross bar under the table outside as it was too unsteady to eat on as we’re the chairs which also need repairing. It meant we couldn’t eat outside. "The house is located dead centre of Playa de los Allemenos (which is the best beach on this coast) and 3 rows back from the sand which gives a great view of the beach and the whole bay (from Morocco to Cadiz). "It was a really nice vacation that we spent in Altantera at Villa Budha. The first step into the villa and you immediately have the beach at your feet, a breathtaking view. The villa was very clean, one of the best equipped kitchens we have found in all our vacations in Spain, top. "Very cool place with amazing view of the Rock. The young woman managing was very helpful and friendly. Easy walk to the border of Gibraltar. Keep in mind this is houseboat with some quirkiness and tight spaces but easily enjoyed with an open mind."

"Lovely hotel surrounded by a nice garden. Many seating areas to relax and have a drink, chat or play a game. (Early) check in was easy. Breakfast buffet was well stocked with many choices. Initially we got a key to a standard (poolside) room which was outdated. Highly recommend upgrading as our main building room was very nice. Personally I liked the historical look of the hotel with marble stairs, wooden floors and wrought iron."

Don't judge this book by its cover...

"Very unassuming from the outside, but with a spectacular interior. A wonderful lady at the reception. Conveniently located if you want to explore the old town and/or catch the ferry for a day trip to Morocco. For a fee, the hotel offers parking in an underground car park about 150 meters away - the only space available was too narrow for my midsize SUV, but there is an excellent public parking garage with valet service also just 150 meters away, and even slightly cheaper than what you would pay at the hotel."

"Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful, great room with a very nice balcony. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh fruit, plenty of cooked options, good coffee. Lots of areas to sit and relax, it is a lovely hotel. Very close to the train station. I can highly recommend Hotel Mir Octavio and I would stay again"
