Luxury estate on the sandy beach of Punta Pescadero (point of the fisherman) where the sun shines 350 days per year. Enjoy world-class fishing on the Sea of Cortez where the only waves are generated by the wind. No wind and this is like a lake! No swells, no sea sickness, and no long trips in the boat. One to three hours of fishing with pick up on the beach in front of the house at 8 AM is usually enough to catch your dinner! Want fresh fish or lobster caught that morning without you going fishing, just ask and it will be delivered, and even cooked for you by private Chef Rogelio. Add a two-person guitar background to your dinner by the pool and you will truly feel you are in heaven, the hustle of life has been left behind.

Walk the beach for 'miles' without seeing anyone! No one selling anything, just walk and enjoy undisturbed nature at its best.

The house is finished with travertine floors, marble and granite countertops, marble bathrooms, and slate around the pool with palapa bar. The palapa sitting area on the beach is the place to be with a nice book to read. This is the life!

Maria will be your maid for your entire stay, washing your dishes and clothes while keeping the property immaculate. Rogelio is the manager of the property who will also be there every day to look after your needs. Rogelio and Maria speak fluent English, so no need to worry about language. Just relax and let him worry about your activities.

There are two master bedrooms with queen-sized beds. One has its own private bath and the second shares the full bath with the bunk room where four can sleep. Additional sleeping is possible on the couches or pool lounge chairs.
OPTIONAL rental of the lower floor of the main house with the extra 2 bedrooms and kitchen results in beds for 12 people. Inquire about extra costs and your needs.
**NO ONE will be in the 'main house' when you are in the guesthouse and vice versa. I adjust my trips around when there is a guest. If you rent the main house, you can also use the guesthouse.

Bring with you: passport, notorized authorization for any minor children not accompanied by both parents, sunscreen, hats, swimsuits, sunglasses, sandals, light windbreaker (December to March only), get international access for your cell phone before leaving, buy your own liquor and food on your drive from the airport. Order fresh tortillas from the village of Cardonal to be delivered daily (Rogelio, the house manager and your conscierge, arranges). Do not try to import beef or chicken into mexico. If you wish, you can ask to go to Costco on your way to the property and stock up for a long stay.

Enjoy the property and the beauty of Mexico. You will return 'walking slow, thinking slow, and talking slow' guaranteed!

Beyond Blessed
We were fortunate enough to spend a week at Casa McGann and have nothing but excellent memories to bring home with us. The location was perfect for our La Paz Sea Lion Snorkel, ATV Adventures and relaxation by pool and on the beach. Rogelio (house manager) became like family to us and as a chef, his meals were the best food that we ate during our entire vacation. Thank you Don for welcoming us to your Casita and we hope to one day return to continue making memories.

Paradise
This place is absolutely amazing. It's remote and should be noted about an hour from town with difficult terrain to get to, so come prepared with groceries. However, once you're there it is beyond worth it and the remoteness is incredible. The beach is pristine with incredible shell-finding. The pool is very relaxing and the property is well taken care of. The house itself is lovely and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We saw a squadron of manta rays jumping out of the water, huge lizards roaming around, a nightly parade of crabs making their way to the ocean - it was truly incredible and you felt like you were in paradise. My only wish is that our stay was longer.

Punta Pescadero
Punta Pescadero, while off the beaten path, is a worthwhile destination. This part of the Sea of Cortez offers some great spots for enjoying shelling, snorkeling, fishing or even diving. Everyone we encountered in this wonderful area of Mexico was warm and eager to help. Jose Maria and his wife Griselda were an absolute pleasure to work with. We experienced a few bumps throughout our trip and Josemaria went out of his way several times to make sure my family had what they needed. We would happily stay again in a home Josemaria and Griselda manage. I unfortunately just can’t say it would be at Casa McGann again.

Gorgeous house on the beach with amazing pool
LOVED LOVED our stay. My husband found some little waves to surf, the kayaks were amazing we took the kids out and I snorkeled everyday except for a beautiful rainy windy day which cooled us off. I do recommend bringing in all of your food and drinks, kitchen and grill great for cooking but the stores are far away. Take the paved road option if you don't have a 4x4 with good shocks! The AC in the house was a must and we were grateful to spend the days inside during the heat. But we were able to stay outside till 12pm and then again ventured into the ocean in the evenings. Afternoon swims in the ocean were also great to stay cool (the water and currents are cooler than the pool) and the visibility was incredibly for the fish. Right out front is a small reef and to the left and the right next to the rocks were incredible full of fish.

A Great House in a Beautiful Beach Location!
My wife and I and another couple spent five nights at Casa McGann and loved the relative remoteness of the beach location. Our exceptionally clean house had everything we needed. Here's what we really liked: The pool (You can ask Jose Maria to adjust the heat) The well-maintained grounds with many places to sit. The daily laundry and cleaning service (something we don't expect at a vacation rental). The palapa in front of the main house, where we watched beautiful sunrises every morning. The uncrowded feel of the neighborhood. (If there were people staying in the other houses nearby, we didn't see them.) Watching the occasional small airplane land or take off on the nearby runway. Renting the ATVs from Jose Maria's brother and being guided by Jose's nephew to nearby petroglyphs. (This well worth the money.) Eating at Jose Maria and his wife's restaurant in Cordanal. Great food at a reasonable price. Having a great lunch at Hotel Punta Pescadero. Though we weren't expecting it, the sea was mostly calm during the days we stayed at the guesthouse. We did several day trips during our stay including visits to the waterfall near Santiago and to the historic town of El Triunfo. Both of these are highly recommended. The wifi was dysfunctional at best when we arrived but Jose Maria called a technician and after that, it worked brilliantly. The last 8 km stretch of road to the neighborhood is rough and and in places narrow and steep. But I'm not complaining. :-) We would absolutely stay here again and we would certainly recommend this rental to anyone who might ask.

Unreal Service
I don't often leave reviews, but Casa McGann was a special experience. The guest home was more than adequate for 5 grown men. The property is nicely laid out, 5 min walk to the hotel for drinks/meals, etc. The extraordinary component of this place that sets is apart from any other I've been too, is the team that assists you during your stay. Rogelio is incredibly responsive as the House Manager, he answered my 600 questions via WhatsApp in the weeks leading up to our trip. His english is fluent, he greeted us upon our arrival, made sure the house was clean and walked us through. He also is a very good chef with professional experience in Las Vegas, HIGHLY recommend his chile rellanos, actually all of his food (we had 2 dinners, breakfast and lunch). The man is on top of everything, from food, to arranging our ATVs, to making sure the kayaks were ready. Really can't say enough... Also, Maria is fantastic, she was prompt every morning, cleaned up our mess (so no flies hanging around sink, sheets folded perfectly, etc). She also speaks english quite well, very pleasant demeanor, etc. The only setback during our stay was that the pool heater was not working. While visiting in December, the winds were high, it was quite chilly, the ocean rough, the days were short. So having the pool heated to 85 degrees was something I spoke to Rogelio about in advance, he was going to make it happen. Unfortunately, just before our arrival, the pool heater broke. I would have been suspicious of this, if I hadn't seen Rogelio on the phone, by the pool trying to fix it himself for the two days we were there. The property is somewhat remote, so getting new parts is difficult. However on our 3rd day, the heater was fixed, and we had 2 days with a very comfortable pool that become our central activity for the remainder of the trip. There are circumstances that are unforeseen, and the measure of a good owner/property manager is how they react. I could not have asked for more effort from Rogelio, he knew this was important for our group, and he eventually solved the problem. This is why I gave this property 5 stars. Thank you Rogelio and Maria! -Kris

My family had the great p...
My family had the great pleasure of staying in this property during the Christmas 2009/New Years 2010 holidays. We were joined by my two siblings and their families, making 15 of us in all. As a result, we rented both the main house and the guesthouse.Jose Maria and Griselda looked after our every need and were a pleasure to see each day. The house was so spacious and there were many places for groups of kids or adults to congregate, inside and outside. Likewise, if you wanted some quiet time on your own, you could easily sneak off and have that, too.We were spoiled by the five-star luxury of this home. It was a pleasure to spend time in the kitchen, cooking with all the quality pots/pans and utensils which were so clean they looked new. And there was so much of everything! Despite feeding 15 people on a daily basis, we never ran out of dishes, glasses or silverware. (Our favorite cabinet, of course, was the one that housed all the beautiful Mexican margarita glasses!) The stove, the dishwasher, the blender and the huge refrigerator/freezer handled our needs with ease. The sleeping accommodation was also fantastic. Every room, right down to the bunks, had quality mattresses and nice linen and blankets. I also really appreciated that Griselda had made up the two couches in the guesthouse and they were ready to be slept in when we arrived. It worked out great – from adults to kids, we were all very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the fantastic sound system! It was so great to have a number of speakers that you could adjust depending on who was where and how loud or soft they liked their music. The other thing that worked out so well was all the outside space. It didn’t matter if it was windy or even cool because as long as the sun was shining, we had the area between the houses to sun bathe. Having the six chaise lounges was perfect (you felt like you were in a top-notch resort) and they were the favorite destination of my five teen-aged nieces. In fact, everything about the property feels like a top-notch resort! When it came to the building and furnishing, there was no expense spared and great care was taken down to the smallest details. If houses had feelings, this one would have been bursting with pride – for our two weeks, it was filled with 15 enormously happy people who utilized it to the fullest, who loved every minute of being there, sharing such a special place.I would also like to say what a pleas

Complete Seclusion
Exceeded all expectations. Walked the beach for hours in both directions and saw one person in over a week. The guest house has everything you need and cleaned immaculately by Griselda. JoseMaria is as helpful as he is nice. He took us grocery shopping and delivered incredible dinners made by his family. If you need or want to do anything, JoseMaria can make it happen. The pool is deep enough to dive into and has a swim up palapa bar. The snorkeling is great and the sunrises are incredible. The Paradise hotel is less than a 15 minute walk if you get lonely and need to see other people. Best house in Punta Pescadero!!

Beautiful property!
We had a great time at this beautiful home. Jose Marie took amazing care of us. Many in our travel group ended up with stomach issues and He was so gracious to get medication for us at the pharmacy. He made travel arrangements for pick-up to and from the airport. Had an ATV delivered to the property and also arranged for a day of fishing. The owner of the property was extremely accommodating and very helpful with answering questions. I highly recommend this property! The pool is warm and cleaned almost daily. Fresh towels a provided daily by José’s wife. Our laundry was washed and folded daily. Loved being able to drive into the local town and meet the people and eat. It was a great vacation! 7 days is probably adequate for this location. There just isn’t a great deal to see and do. The fishing is amazing though.

Absolutely amazing place and amazing service. Everything about Casa McGann exceeded our expectations and more. A big thank you to Jose Maria for making our stay so wonderful with dinner service, cleaning our rooms everyday, warming the pool and setting up our fishing charter for us. To Don, thank you for sharing your paradise. We now have a feel for what it is like to live ocean front. We hope we are welcome back again! *Two adults and two kids ages 4 and 6. Kids loved the pool, home and the beach. Very private and quiet. *

38 Years later I've returned to Punta Pescadero where I used to celebrate Christmas
Arriving in MX, JoseMaria greeted us at the airport with a welcoming smile. We had prearranged for him to bring a cooler for Costco, however, 15 minutes into our drive, we realized JoseMaria was going north instead of south (Costco). We called & asked where we were going, he said, "Chapitos, the market in Los Barriles. Costco was too far away from the airport," (despite having prearranged this with him via What's App). The 3 of us were so eager to be on vacation in MX we went along. Once at the market, we realized quickly how little food was available. We got a few staples knowing we absolutely had to lose a day of vacation returning to Cabo (2-hr drive south where we had just come from) to go to Costco. Punta Pescadero is a 25-minute drive (on paved road) plus 15-minute drive (dirt) from the darling town of Los Barriles. Like clockwork, a 40 minute drive every trip. We enjoyed its beauty everyday. Day 2, we drove 2 hrs back to Cabo (unbelievable how much its changed) & found Costco, where we bought ice & our customary meats, veggies & fruit. A quick trip to Wal Mart for ice, shampoo, conditioner & a hair dryer, as the guest house didn't have one. Returning late afternoon, the 3 of us settled in poolside. JoseMaria said the pool had cooled a bit because the propane gas had run out. The following day, the pool was a delightful 90 degrees. The linens were fresh & our sleep was comfy & well needed. The guesthouse beds, baths & living space was pleasing & kitchen was aesthetically clean however, when you touched anything you could feel the grease & grime buildup from past delicious meal preps, no doubt. I removed everything from the counters & degreased them along with the items on the counters with hot soapy water (back splash toaster, coffee grinder, coffee maker, utensil holder & utensils). I did not attempt cleaning the spice rack-it was just old & gross, as were the spices in the cupboard. The frig was spotless clean. The TV use was strictly DVD's supplied in cabinet below the TV. We watched 2 movies during our stay. We were thrilled the find a backgammon board & a deck of cards. Griselda was lovely as can be. She washed & folded my husbands clothes all but 3 days. I washed my own. We did our own dishes most of the time but if we hadn't got to them, she would do them for us. She took a couple days off, which she deserved. JoseMaria, Griselda & Alfredo were wonderful. They made our stay complete. We'd LOVE to come back!

Beautiful Property
My family and I stayed at the McGann Casita (Guesthouse) for a week in July. The location was great and the overall property (pool, beach, putting green, etc.) was perfect for a relaxing vacation. There were enough beach/pool lounges for everyone and the caretakers made sure we had clean beach towels each day. As advertised, the service that comes with this rental was excellent. JoseMaria and his wife, Griselda, were very friendly and helpful. Griselda was there every day ensuring the house was clean and all of the laundry was done - and folded! We also had JoseMaria cater a dinner at the house one night - the food was excellent! The house was a relatively short walk to the local hotel where we ate lunch and dinner on a few occasions. We also rented ATVs which allowed us to tour the countryside, visit some out of the way restaurants and take a ride into Los Barriles for dining and shopping. The road is a little rocky and dusty, but the trip was worth it. Overall a very nice and relaxing time!

Casa McGann is a relaxing and incredible piece of paradise on the Sea of Cortez
My family enjoyed a wonderful relaxing and peaceful 9 day stay in this amazing Casita! Really more of a house with ocean views and a beautiful pool. The beds were all very comfortable and plenty of room to relax. The weather was cooler than expected and quite breezy but the pool was a perfect 86 degrees day and night. We spent many hours in the pool looking out at the ocean and at the stars at night. The palapa by the ocean was a great place to watch the sunrise over the sea! The Casita is a short walk to Punta Pescadero which has a restaurant, bar, and amazing views! Breakfast and Lunch is pretty reasonable and we highly recommend the nachos! They were quite a meal. One of the best perks of this rental was getting picked up at the airport and the drive back. No stress! We did fine without a car as Jose Maria was available to take us anywhere we wanted to go. Jose Maria and his wife Griselda are wonderful people. We are quite familiar with the area so needed very little help exploring but Jose Maria made sure we always had everything we needed. He keeps the property immaculate and would bring us eggs, ice, and wonderful homemade tortillas whenever we need them. Griselda is a awesome cook and we had her prepare us a meal the day we arrived. Terrific food! We even went to her restaurant in the quaint town of El Cardonal for more of her great food. She kept the Casita very neat and clean. She made sure we had fresh shower and pool towels throughout the stay. Casa McGann is a beautiful well cared for yet unpretentious place to stay on the Sea of Cortez away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Pack light and just relax! Plenty of room for a larger group yet just right for my family of four. Really a paradise and we so enjoyed the time with our family! Thanks Don for sharing your Casita and wonderful friends Jose Maria and Griselda with us. We will be back!

Nice property. Well kept.Quiet.
We had a great time. 4- 50 year ago high school buds. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. The staff was really good. Clothes laundered and the place clean and tidy when we returned from a day of fishing.it is a beautiful very quiet setting. Internet spotty and phone non existent ..and in our cases welcome. The fishing was very good. We caught Dorado, tuna ,wahoo, marlin, yellowtail, snapper among others.Fresh fish every night on the BBQ /smoker provided. We all filled our 48 qt coolers after 4 days fishing. The other 2 days was catch and release or give to the crew if not viable to release. If quiet and soltitude along with soaking in the beauty of this part of Mexico this is better than a doctors prescription. The 4 of us travel over the world for both business and pleasure. We are a bit rough but discerning. We would highly recommend this place. We are all discussing the next trip and wondering how we can include our significant others kids and grandkids. The owner Don Mc is very helpful and a fountain of information. He provided tidbits and advice from research to booking to the day before we left.Quick email responses. Again an A1 experience
