"Lovely warm house in a beautiful setting. Could do with a bit of updating. For example, the toaster didn’t work and the beds and pillows were quite lumpy. On the whole though, we had a wonderful time and would go back."

"Good for family (2 adults, 4 kids). Good location, 30 minute walk or 10-15 minute bus ride to the city centre. Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. Overall good, would stay again. "

"when we first used the shower the water was tepid/32, not comfortable but usable. The last 2 days we were there the water was too cold/28 to even take a shower and this was adjusted to the warmest setting. If it had been that cold when we got there I would have called so it could be fixed but it wasn't worth it 2 days before leaving. Also the door to the patio was very very hard to unlock and lock so as a result we simply didn't use it."

"This house was amazing, really spacious with a huge well-equipped living/kitchen/dining room. Great views of the harbour and the sea, really comfy sofas, a huge tv screen and a large dining table. Bathrooms were large and modern (there was a problem with the showers but I'm sure that will be addressed). "We had 4 people staying on the first night. Everyone was very comfortable but the loft space did allow sound to travel from downstairs. We enjoyed the patio and beautiful views of the forth. We cooked a meal on the third day and made full use of the well appointed kitchen. The only issue we had was the lack of toilet brush and that we couldn't get the washing machine to drain. The host's solution to this (send more towels) would not have been practical on a longer stay. Very pleasant...

"The Garden Cottage is such a fantastic spot. My family was traveling to Scotland for a wedding and needed a nearby accommodation with minimal stairs for the 92 yr old grandmother. The Garden Cottage seemed to be a good choice until we walked in the door and WOW, it exceeded all expectations. Not only were there few stairs and 3 bedrooms, the cottage included a lovely kitchen with a large table, a sitting room, a tv room and a fantastic garden with opportunities to spot a big rabbit or two. ...

It's located on the Royal Mile so you are surrounded by all sorts of shops, restaurants, etc. I felt very safe in this area. So many things to see -- very historic. "

"This is a wonderful location right below the castle. Every morning we woke up to a gorgeous view! Peaceful street, one block from all of the Grassmarket shops and restaurants, and it was so easy to walk everywhere in town. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely stay there again!"
