"The owner kept in touch giving accurate and detailed instructions on entering and had even put the heating on for us so that it was warm for my epderly mother. In brief. "We have stayed at these premises a number of times previously and have to say nothing has changed, still a lovely well set out cottage right in the centre of Wooler.Very clean and tidy, with everything you need for a short break or a longer stay. The host is very helpful and communicates well.If you book the cottage be sure to book the Italian in Wooler, it’s called Milan and it is very good, the best bit is it’s less than a 2 minute walk from the cottage!"

"Barn Cottage was the perfect venue for our winter get away with friends. The property comfortable accommodated our party of eight. It is tastefully furnished and had excellent facilities including gym, tennis, table tennis and spa pool.Its an easy short stroll into Bamburgh and proved to be a great base from which to explorevthe area. "The location of the house is perfect for visiting various beaches & historic towns, nothing was too far. The house is very well equipped and felt very cosy but with plenty of space, especially with our 2 golden retriever dogs. They also loved the garden, with lots of room to run around. We can definitely see ourselves returning here sometime in the future."

"The house was mostly comfortable but needs some upkeep. The communication with the host was a challenge and they did not reply to most messages (even an acknowledgment of receipt would be okay). One of the showers we could not adjust the temperature, 2 of the showers had mold. One of the biggest challenges was trying to cook as the cookware is very worn and some of it unusable. It would be nice to have a few basic essentials such as salt and pepper and hand soap upon arrival to get things...

"Quiet and peaceful. Property exactly as advertised with lovely small garden area and small field amongst trees out the back, with deer spotted one morning. Very clean, owner had thought of everything from small torches in drawers to cleaning materials in cupboards and spare lightbulbs if required. Property very warm, and within about 30-40 minutes drive of nearby Northumberland and Scottish Border places of interest to visit. Property only 2 miles over the Border from England. "The property itself was incredibly quiet and on one side of a cobbled stable area. Every morning and evening, the owner's three elderly horses were led to and from the nearby field and we could often see the horse looking over his stable door from our bedroom window - the pony and Shetland pony weren't tall enough to look over! We saw several deer and hares near the cottage on the grounds. The cottage is in the grounds of Spital House; it was initially hard to find from the directions and maps...

"We had a lovely three night stay at Beach House Hotel. There was some refurbishment going on in the reception area at the time of our visit, these were undertaken during daytime hours when guests were out and so not a real inconvenience. The staff were friendly and approachable. Room was very comfortable with luxury toiletries provided in the bathroom. Perfect location in SeaHouses. Food was excellent. "

Excellent hotel

"Fabulous location in the centre of Seahouses with views over the harbour. All the staff were lovely and went out of their way to ensure that we had a fantastic trip. Nothing was too much trouble and although we didn’t have a dog with us, those that were there were given an equally warm welcome! (There was a dog free area of the dining room as well but all the pets were very well behaved - obviously exhausted by all those long beautiful coastal walks.) The rooms were comfortable and very warm with none of that annoying phoning down to reception to turn the heat up which seems to be the standard in large chains nowadays. We were not fully inclusive but ate in the restaurant through choice most nights as the food was freshly prepared and very good. Helen, Peter and their staff run a very efficient and friendly hotel which we will definitely visit again. "
