"We were warmly greeted by the manager, she was knowledgeable about beer choices and wine. Locals were friendly in the bar. We stayed for the 2nd time in room 4. Special room with stand alone bath in the bathroom which is separate to the bedroom with a sliding door. Lots of cobwebs in the bathroom Dinner was lovely Breakfast was very good with Gluten free bread on request. Would recommend and will definitely stay again "

"This was the perfect spot to stay at the end of a long holiday. We had a beautiful suitte looking over the front gardens. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Restuarant and bar in the property. You need a car to go exploring, but only 5 minutes from Kendal. Would definetely stay there again. "

"This was a perfect get away , so peaceful . We stayed in stable 1 , two adults and our dog. Lovely comfy beds and pillows, duvet. Enough room for shorter stay. Everything was catered for . We had a lovely fire pit and BBQ outside the stable which we used . Views are amazing . Lovely pub a short walk down the road called the Punch Bowl , lovely food, wines, staff were so friendly . You’ll need a torch to walk home if it’s dark which we had been told about . Situated perfectly for getting to main attractions. Can’t fault our 2 night stay and would definitely return. "

"I put in the postcode but car sat nav directed me as far as the local pub only! After turning down a wrong lane past the pub in the pitch dark (9pm on an October evening) ascending up at a dead end I rang the owner who instructed me to carry on past the pub for another 2 miles! I eventually arrived at a building signposted as the ‘equestrian centre’ so I drove a bit further and ended up driving around some lane in a woods (surrounded by curious deer and badgers!). I rang the owner again and found their farm yard nearly getting stuck in the mud! I rang again and kind gentleman at the farm directed me to the house. By this time I was a bit stressed (late and had a long journey)but soon as I entered the house and was shown to my room, all this melted away! The room was lovely and bed was super comfy. The house was so quiet so had a great nights sleep, mind you I was the only one staying there. The morning greeted me with a picture perfect view out the window, as you can see from the photo. The owner greeted me with a lovely breakfast cooked to perfection. I normally stay in premier inns when on business, mainly due to the ease of finding them when having travelled along way during the night. This place though is definitely one I will come back to if working in the area (now I know how to find it!). As me and the wife love walking the hills in the lakes, this place will also be high our list to stay at. Beautiful house, location, breakfast and lovely hosts. "

"After travelling around the UK for four weeks, this is one hotel we can wholeheartedly recommend. Great food, great service, good room. The only complaint we thought we were going to have, was too much light from the exterior lights coming through the curtains, but we had overlooked that the window also had a blind!"

"We booked last minute and so pleased we found the derby inn. Very helpful and friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. We would love to come back in the winter when they have there log fires on in the quaint rooms. Thank you for a lovely couple of days away. "

"Very comfortable room and quiet considering it was a public house. Slight noise from being on a main road but I live in a very rural area so any noise will be noticeable for me! Very friendly and helpful staff."
