"Wanted somewhere to celebrate my wife’s birthday, so thought we would try this resort. They had a wedding reception going on, when we arrived, but that was okay, music was off before we went to bed. Most resorts have music on Friday nights. We had dinner at their restaurant, was surprised of how big portion was, as it suggests for 2 people. Reasonable priced, and staff were helpful. "It was an amazing experience at Plantation Bay and any feedback I have does not reflect a negative view but for awareness. The no tipping policy is great and even without it the service is top notch. Very impressive. The food options feel somewhat limited and I wouldn’t say I would stay for the food. The best aspect of the food was the morning buffet and there are so many options and a theme each day changes. I would have preferred to have some more casual options with lower price points but...

The outdoor areas truly showcase the resort's potential. However, the rooms and overall property are quite run-down, which is disappointing for a five-star hotel at this price point. "The property is showing its age, but the room was in great condition and the bed was very comfortable. When I arrived the pool was murky, but by the time I left the water was crystal clear. The gym area is not great, no A/C, but if you're willing to sweat it out, it'll work ... I used the treadmill for an hour and was soaked when finished. Overall this hotel served its purpose and I will use it again."
