"If you have time (we had a month) and you are feeling jaded then a week at Saku boutique homestay is for you! Hosts Saku and Denny - two enterprising, sprightly characters will attend to your needs, provide airport shuttles and even dinner and laundry (if needed). They are two entertaining guides who want you to have a great time. We took an excursion with them to Chang Rai - blue temple and the white temple and a tea plantation. Saku and Denny are experienced hosts and worldly wise with a great sense of humour - ‘if you please’. 😉 Super clean and super friendly, the homestay is out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre but this means that you can relax, unwind and use fast wi-fi to plan. The plunge pool is a must on a hot day, especially after a trip to the hosts’ organic lime farm or Chiang Mai’s wholesale flower market. Thoroughly recommend. Hire a moped - the local back lanes are full of surprises and interest. "

"Nice and comfortable, the bedroom was in great condition and balcony was really nice. Air con was also working, although we didn’t need it for our stay. We did notice a spot of old blood on the duvet but it seemed like a stain, and was otherwise definitely clean. They also provided a kettle and coffee for the morning, and assisted us with a late check in."

"Very unique experience in these rustic but rather perfect cottages. Only complaint would be the outdoor shower definately could be hotter. Otherwise king bed was comfy, perfect pillows. One other person in the pool during our 3 day stay. If you want peace from busy city, this is the place. About 30 min from Chiang Mai airport. We took grab into Chiang Mai sunday market, and it was no problem, about 30 min each way. Cute village areas out in Hang Dong. I would stay again! Staff were great too."

"I nicely put my skin care and cosmetics on the table and took a picture of it before left the room. But once I return to my room in the evening, some of my cosmetics didn't placed in the same position. Even my perfume which I put in the closed box, the box kept opened when I return to the room. Then we never asked for the cleaning service again on the next day."

"Basic place, a little out of town. Some mould on walls in bathroom and sink in the kitchen area. Good that there was a microwave, kettle, kitchen sink and a few pots."

"Our stay at the villa went above and beyond our expectations. Even before we arrived, Jane, the owner, was in constant contact with us and met with all our needs. Upon our arrival, Jane welcomed us and was available for every need, be it a massage, information or a surprise dinner. Despite the heaviest floods in 100 years, the incredible staff led by Kiwi, - Mo, Ying, Son-thu, the wonderful, dedicated gardener and Aww, the chef who prepared our breakfasts, remained a calm presence. The place is stunning and has every amenity possible. We felt completely relaxed and pampered and can't thank Jane and her staff enough for their hospitality, kindness and devotion. On a personal note, I want to thank Jane, who surprised me as well with a gift for my birthday. It was such a generous gesture and I will truly miss them. "
