"Last minute stay in a traditional pub hotel. Room was fine and quite big although I didn't go inspecting everywhere. Had a little black around the shower but hey it's not the Hilton. Food was lovely in the pub, arrived quickly, really tasty. Wouldn't stay for more than a day although the village looked quite quaint until I saw two homeless people fighting outside Gregg's"

"We stayed in the Kedelston room which was a lovely cosy room tastefully decorated and had all the extras that maybe required. Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries and sewing kit. The bar offered a cocktail menu along the usual drinks you would expect. We dined in the restaurant which had a nice atmosphere. The food was good quality and tasty and reasonably priced. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this place to others."

"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"Met with your name, escorted to your room, breakfast time and options discussed. Breakfast then on time and as you wanted. Dinning options nearby. You can walk to the train into Nottingham. Nottingham with out the stress"

"Hilary and Graham are very welcoming. We were contacted before arrival with directions. They even had a pot of tea ready when we arrived which was very much appreciated. A nice comfy bed and ample en-suite bathroom. The cooked breakfast was really good with homemade fresh bread!!! We will definitely stay again."

"We had a lovely stay Shaan and Sef couldn't have been better they made us feel so welcome, The Breakfast was great. The bedroom was great, the mattress was soft with feather pillows and the shower was amazing. "

"Really nice place and will stay again. Only there for a short time. Comfy bed and very peaceful. Monday night, food last orders at 6:45 due to early close. Excellent breakfast!!! "

"The hotel is very tastefully decorated and modern the staff very helpful and friendly the food excellent and cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was right at the front off the hotel it did have modern double glazed windows but they were useless the traffic outside never stopped until after midnight and restarted around 4 am.I am quite a heavy sleeper but this had to be the worst night’s sleep I’ve experienced at a hotel, the bed looked lovely but we couldn’t turn over...

"I cannot recommend Marehay hall Farm and host Sharon highly enough. All of the the positive descriptions reviewing a B&B apply here. Whatever your expectations are they will surely be met and exceeded. If you are looking for a quiet oasis to relax and retreat from the hustle of daily life, this is it. The gardens are work in progress and offer the potential to make this a much saught after retreat location. Would we come back. Without a doubt! "

"There was a power outage overnight the first night we stayed here. Upon realizing that in the morning, because there was no hot water, I tried to contact the manager. It took over an hour for her to respond and all she could tell me was that she couldn't get ahold of her handyman. After 2 hours of waiting with no update from the handyman, we left. I asked for a refund but was refused and I was accused of causing the power outage because I must have plugged in a North American device. This...

"Homely, very welcoming. If you like farms, there were horses, geese, ducks to explore. Also a lovely dog which was very friendly. The area is gorgeous with fields, a lake and so many mushrooms.... so like the traditional fairy toadstools. In the summer, there are several areas for sitting out. Madeline proved very friendly and would do anything to please."

"Lovely place, our room was a great size with a huge bed, fridge, microwave, oven, hob, cutlery and crockery. Great view overlooking the main road, fab for people watching. There was a smokey smell in our bathroom but thats not the fault of the hotel, previous guests not respecting the rules, it wasnt bad enough to complain but I've read they are very accommodating if a guest isn’t happy. We had a huge bathroom with a good shower and it was about a 10 minute walk to city centre but there's plenty...

Great for city centre stay

"Stay in Nottingham a few times a year on business and have used most of the gym equipped hotels in the city centre. In my opinion this is the best I've tried so far. Parking is super convenient and secure, nice gym facilities, wonderful breakfast service with amazing friendly staff throughout the hotel. Rooms are a little dated and tired, but that would go for the other similarly priced hotels that I've tried in the area too. Will definitely be my first choice next time. Thanks"
