"A brief but very pleasant stay! I slept over before a trail marathon the early the next morning in Grizedale Forest. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They offered to run me down to the start line, I needed my car, but that was very kind! They supplied me with coffee at 6:15am made my porridge and provided a a take away sausage sarnie which I ate when I finished the race and was like heaven at that point! "Mike and Lynn run a first-class professional establishment. They provide an appropriately relaxed environment with excellent facilities. Our room was quiet, spacious and spotless. The bed was comfortably firm. For those traveling by car, the ample parking in an enclosed courtyard is a rare bonus. Breakfast selections are prepared with care. Overall, the property and management deserve a five-star rating."

"We had a wonderful stay at 1 Park Road in September, having stayed here now for many years. Hilton is an excellent host and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is beautiful with allergens catered for with prior notice. Such a relaxing time in the lovely bright dining room.
