Short walk to village...with private wooded setting. EV Charger in parking area.

As Lake Placid Club grew from its inception in 1895, it experienced many expansive changes. At it's height, the private club included 6,000 acres in an extensive development of accommodations, recreation facilities, service buildings, farmland and forest. In the early part of the 1900s certain members of the club were no longer satisfied with the hotel-like accommodations in the large club house. Over time some 40 cottages were built near, but separate from, the main building. Today, fewer than a dozen of these historic buildings remain. Our house, Juniper Cottage, built in 1923, is one of them. The total renovation of the property, completed in July 2005, has been as respectful as possible to the original Juniper and is designed to maximize its secluded forest setting and the variety of mature trees which surround the house.

Juniper has 4 bedrooms each with their own screened in porch and bathroom. The master bedroom has a gas fireplace (gas), queen bed, sitting area with two chairs, and a closet. A second bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed and closet. The third main floor bedroom has two twin beds and a bathroom with whirlpool tub. The fourth bedroom is located down a spiral staircase from the main floor to a walkout lower level. This bedroom has two twin beds and a private bathroom. The laundry room is also downstairs with both a washing machine and dryer.

The living room has a 14 foot cathedral ceiling, great views of the forest and a large stone fireplace. The room is perfect for sitting around the fireplace reading, chatting, watching TV, or listening to music on the Sonos system. Juniper is equipped with an iMac and high speed internet. Want to unplug? Then feel free to read one of the many books at Juniper, play one of the board games or do an old-fashioned jigsaw puzzle.

The galley kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas range and oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and a large selection of dish ware, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, etc. If you prefer to grill, there is a gas grill right outside the front door.

If you come in the winter to ski, we have plenty of room for your equipment. There are racks to hold eight sets of skis. Also, inside the front door is a small, heated mud room with benches and coat racks so you can easily remove your winter clothes and boots without bringing them into the cottage.

There is a small shed near the parking area of Juniper to put garbage and recyclables. And in the back yard there is a hammock for enjoying the good weather and a lean-to in case you want to spend a night outdoors or just enjoy the fire pit in front of it.

Juniper is close (10 minute walk) to town but situated in a private-wooded setting. This allows for privacy when grilling and/or dining outside. Or just when sitting with your family and friends around the outdoor fire pit roasting marshmallows.

From Juniper Cottage you can easily access many activities. It is a short walk or bike ride into town and all that that has to offer including a park, public beach and tennis courts. On the Lake Placid Club grounds there are three golf courses designed by Scots for the Lake Placid Club.

There is access to many hiking (and biking) trails right outside the front door. In the winter, these trails are great for cross country skiing. With a car, skiing at the Whiteface is 15 minutes away. In all seasons, near-by activities and attractions are truly limitless.

For property security, outdoor security cameras are located at the front and rear doors and cover portions of the front and rear yards. Ringing the doorbell on the front door will ring the indoor chime and will send a ring alert to us.

Great place to stay!
The location was secluded enough we didn’t see anyone around the house, but getting to and from town was easy. Would gladly stay again!

Another great stay at Juniper!
This was our fourth time staying at Juniper and it was another great experience. The location is perfect for us, nestled in the woods, but walking distance to town and Mirror Lake. Our four yr old son loves staying at “The Bear House” (his name for it because of the bear in dining area). We look forward to returning next year!

Great place to stay!
Very quiet, out-of-the-way place to stay with a group of family and/or friends. Four bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and porch. Highly recommended for cookouts and long talks by the fire-pit.

The setting was gorgeous with a fresh snowfall on the surrounding pine trees. Having four bedrooms each with a private bathroom was ideal for our family getaway. Access to the ski area and downtown was ideal. And hosts were very attentive!

Family vacation
We had a lovely stay at the juniper cottage. The cottage was clean and had many amenities to utilize. It was in a great location. A short walk to the town and many hiking spots. Our family came together and shared many great memories at the cottage! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you eric and leanne for such a wonderful time.

We loved this house.
We loved every minute of staying at Jupiter. Everything was in great condition and we loved the close proximity to town. We especially liked having all the bedrooms and bathrooms and porches. It was fun sitting in each of the porches while enjoying a cup of coffee. We would highly recommend this home to anyone staying in Lake Placid.

Perfect holiday trip to Lake Placid
We had a wonderful stay at Juniper Cottage! The location is perfect ( an easy walk to town) and the cottage is adorable! Everything we needed was provided. It was nice not to have to bring linens and towels and the bedrooms and baths were great. We loved sitting around the firepit. We will definitely be back!

Stayed at Juniper for IMLP 70.3
7 of us stayed at Juniper cottage for the half Ironman race and then stayed for a few more days to enjoy beautiful Lake Placid and the Adirondacks. The house was fantastic - great location within walking distance of town for the race or shopping, etc. It was very clean with plenty of room for us. Very nice quiet setting in the woods and we enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings. Definitely would love to come again!

Winter getaway
The house was very well-equipped, with everything we needed. Nice location, close to everything Lake Placid has to offer. The owners responded immediately when we had a question. The rooms are nice, it’s great having a bathroom adjacent to each bedroom, and it was very quiet. One note - the downstairs twin beds are a little small for tall people.

Wonderful cabin near Lake Placid
This 4 bedroom 4 bath cabin was perfect for our family. We made use of the fire pit almost every day. Loved sitting on the back porch to have lunch each day. The master bedroom with the gas fireplace was absolutely perfect!! The kitchen is tiny but well equipped and has new appliances. We'll be back!

Nice house but false advertising
Great little house, cozy, great location. THEY DO NOT HAVE A HOT TUB. The jacuzzi bathtub which they advertise as a hot tub cannot be used because there is not enough hot water to fill it. We always look for properties with a hot tub, and this house lists one as an amenity, but does not have one, and has no evidence of ever having one. Other than that it was a great stay

Stay at Juniper!
Such a wonderful property, and perfect for a group of 4 couples to have privacy as well as time together as a group. Lots of books and games if you want to stay in but a lovely property. One thing is the listing says 3 rooms with queen beds and 1 room with two twins but it was actually 2 rooms with queens and 2 rooms with 2 sets of twins. Not a big deal just something to note.

Beautiful Wooded Setting yet Close to Town
We truly enjoyed our stay at Juniper Cottage. It was exactly as pictured. It was very clean & inviting and we really loved having a bathroom & porch for each bedroom. The beds were comfy and the quiet setting made it easy to sleep in or spend the mornings relaxing on the porch. It was an easy walk to town (especially to the Lake Placid Brewery). Leanne & Eric were very easy to deal with and I would highly recommend this property. We're already talking about our next visit. Thank you so much for sharing your vacation home with us. A lot of special memories were created on our first trip to this area & we're looking forward to a return trip.

Great time, quiet wonderful location
This cottage was truely a delightful find. We went up Columbus Day weekend to hike Big Slide and all seven of us were thrilled with the accomodations. The great room was wonderful place to hang out and make the final plans for our hike. The beds were so very comfy everyone woke up well rested and ready to go at 5:30 am. Upon our return that evening we loved the four bathrooms to clean up in which left plenty of time to toast our accomplishment. We had hoped to build a camp fire and snuggle in the cozy blankets Eric and Leanne had provided for just that purpose but found the wine and the beds too compelling. Next time! Yes, we will be back!

Great spot - with lots of room
Though other reviews indicated the cottage was plenty large, we were still a little apprehensive based on the main picture. Just thought it would be helpful to say that our apprehension was completely misplaced! Our party included 4 adults and 4 teenagers and, despite some unfortunate weather that left us indoors more than we had hoped, we never felt tight for space. Having all the screened in porches was fantastic. The fire pit and Adirondack chairs were great and despite being so close to center of town, it felt like we were in the wilderness. The sound system was amazing for a cottage!

Placid Perfection
Juniper Cottage has that quintessential cottage-in-the-woods charm - and was a perfect fit for 6 of us. We had 2 families with 2 kids and plenty of room with 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths. Nice layout with the great room and big fireplace. Plenty of games and puzzles and great books. Gas fireplace in the master was bliss. Fire pit outside. Good walk to the lake/town and a bit icy. We drove in but snowshoes would work too. Kitchen is small - one person at a time - but has all you need. Place was spotless and truly relaxing- enjoyed by all. Connect with owners prior to arrival for best directions (GPS a little wonky around there) and check-in instructions. It was our first New Year’s Eve in Lake Placid! We’ll be back~ Eric and Leanne are great to work with, as well. Thank you!

Has Potential
Juniper cottage is in a terrific location and we walked to almost everything. The decor is Adirondack charm and each room was very comfortable. We entered the cottage earlier than check in as it seemed ready and we were contacted by the owner to have asked for permission to do so, totally understand this. The owner then cancelled the caretaker that apparently checks the cottage one hour prior to our 4pm check in time. Even with a caretaker check, the overall cottage would still have needed a thorough cleaning, both inside and out. The porches were filthy with faces drawn on the screen dirt off one of the bedrooms, dirty cushions and dirty throw rugs, cobwebs and mold. The interior needs some freshening as well especially the small kitchen area. The kitchen was functional with anything you would need but since its small, it would have been nice to not have each cabinet used with the owner's food and supplies. All groceries we purchased needed to be kept in a bin in the family room. Our family spends a lot of time in the Adirondacks each year and we are used to many styles of homes and are not in need of anything fancy. This rental has potential but needs some TLC.

Great long weekend at Juniper Cottage!
We had a fantastic long weekend at Juniper Cottage! The house was just as described. It was clean and very comfortable. We were a group of 6 adults and had plenty of room to spread out. Every couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. We loved the wrap around enclosed porch and had our coffee out there every morning. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and the adirondack chairs around it. The cottage has a large open living, dining room area. We played games at night at the table and had plenty of room. It was a nice feature to have the Sonos system for music. We enjoyed the decor in the cottage and it really gave it the Adirondack atmosphere. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials and the appliances were all great. We ate out most the time but did cook one breakfast. Towels and linens were provided which was a nice feature. The cottage is secluded but still close to everything. We walked around Mirror Lake and into town one afternoon. Leanne and Eric responded quickly to my questions and had some good recommendations. We had a great dinner at the Monkey Bar in the Interlaken Inn. It was a fun and casual place to eat. We also tried Smoke Signals and The Breakfast Club. All were fantastic. The hikes we did were great and the views were beautiful. I highly recommend Juniper Cottage and we definitely will stay there again.
