"It was a magical place in a magical, breathtaking setting. We had one of the 3-course dinners which was delicious and beautifully presented. The communal kitchen was very nice and inviting for when you wanted to cook for yourself. We were lucky to get to spend our two nights in the heritage cottage facing the lake. The bed was extremely comfortable and the washroom spotlessly clean and very stylish. The staff we chatted with were all very warm and friendly. "

"This house is amazing. A beautiful log house that caters for all ages. A great view of the snow capped mountains. The underfloor heating kept the temp of the house spot in."

"This overnight cruise on Milford Sound may have been the highlight of our fabulous 2 week trip to New Zealand. The staff were all so attentive and helpful. Meg was a delight to talk to and so helpful. She even hung our swimsuits to dry in the engine room. Jimmy brought the underwater sea life to life with an amazing video and narrative. He made sure to direct our attention and the ship to the most beautiful sights in the sound. We were blessed to see rare penguin, seals and a waterfall with a double rainbow. The wind changed direction suddenly and we all got sprayed by the waterfall. Super fun!!! And the staff was quick to grab us all towels. The food was delicious too! It was so nice to relax overnight and use the hot tub under the stars. Kayaking was fun and included in cist. Amazing adventure that I highly recommend!"

"Jason has an incredible cottage just outside of Queenstown. It was clean and inviting with a wood burning fire for the cold days and a gorgeous deck for the sunny days. Perfect for two couples!"

"Honestly this is an amazing hotel, and we definitely recommend. It is a bit pricey but if you are looking for a relaxed break, this is definitely the hotel you want to go to. All other hotels are more convenient for doing activities as you are closer to town, though this is an amazing hotel to just take a break, or for holiday home if you have a big family. The staff here are honestly so helpful and treat you like family, they all take care of you to your personalised likings. This is also the cleanest hotel i’ve ever stayed in, along with breathtaking views right near the lake. Food is amazing too, along with helpful amenities such as the gym and sauna. There is also quite a lot to do here , you can go to the jetty where you see breathtaking views along with a hike around this area, you can go to the library, go to the gym, and much more. I would also like to say that the massages at this place are honestly amazing and definitely recommend getting it if you are staying at Matakauri. Otherwise, this is an amazing hotel, it is a bit pricey but compared to all other hotels in queenstown this is the best one and there is no doubt about that. Here at Rosewood Matakauri you defined get what you paid for, along with kindness from the staff, always checking up on you! Definitely recommend and once again thank you so much to the staff for being so helpful with everything and making our stay at Rosewood Matakauri and very memorable experience!
