This was a spacious, well-appointed, beautiful home that allowed our large extended family to spend a great holiday together. The owner was easy to communicate with and we found the property to be just what we needed. Even enjoyed the light coating of snow throughout the day and evening to make the views and vistas even more breathtaking!
Our daughter was getting married at Elmore State Park and this was the perfect spot for the wedding party to stay. Beautiful property and house. Very spacious! We loved that there was so many bathrooms, 4 in all! Definitely highly recommend it!
We enjoyed the lake very much. We used the 2 kayaks supplied with the property and rented 2 more and some paddle boards from Up North Canoe and Kayak. Hiking in the Stowe area (30 min away) was great. The house was great and well supplied.
Beautiful house with plenty of space. Truly enjoyed staying in this house. Not too far from Stowe mountain. Would love to come back and stay here in the summer.
We congregated our work team for the weekend, folks brought their kids and we enjoyed time on the lake. It was a wonderful space, equipped with everything we needed!
The house was nice and seeing family we great. Cool and rainy weather was somewhat discouraging. No way to control that. All in all it was a good week.
There was NO communication with property manager. How do I rate that???
Had a great time skiing at Stowe, about a 30 minute drive. Lake was frozen, took a nice walk on it observing the ice fishing! House was excellent. Large and comfortable for our party of 9. Interesting knick knacks around, certainly conversation pieces reflecting the extraordinary lives of the owners!
We ski in Vermont every year with our friends. This house was great and it accommodated all of our needs. Plenty of space and bathrooms. We just loved it. Location is convenient to many mountains and breweries.
Betsy’s lake house is a wonderful place. Beautiful views, comfy beds, warm gas fireplace. Great place to stay while skiing or just to get away. (Cell service was horrible and no one complained) Everything you need to cook with in the kitchen. Plenty of towels and supplies. We caught a mild stretch and definitely needed 4WD on the road (un-paved) but it was fun! Would definitely return!
Overall our stay was exactly what we were striving for- enjoy food, drink and relax with nothing to do. The house was spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied (some pans were getting beyond its usefulness)- happy for the dishwasher- and couldn't beat the view from the kitchen windows. It was the perfect location away from the world but still so close.
We discovered Betsys house while planning a family reunion in the area. It was exactly what we needed; a great location, large enough for all of us and set up perfectly. We loved having our coffee in the morning watching everyone ice fishing and enjoying the snow. The house had everything we could have needed and we really enjoyed our time there. We will definitely be back!
We enjoyed our stay at this home with a group of friends for our presidents week ski trip. The home fit three families comfortably. The view and location can’t be beat, especially from the kitchen. Even in the winter the lake is beautiful. Door to door this property is less than 40 minutes from the base of Stowe, and only a few minutes from the nearest town which made it very convenient. FYI there is absolutely no cell service, but the home does have WiFi. So if you’re looking to “unplug” and relax this is definitely the place to do it. Finally, I will say that upon check-in there were a few issues that needed to be addressed, and Betsy was extremely responsive and quick to help, which we really appreciated.

Xmas
Lovely property but starting to show wear. Many ceiling fans didn't work, two toilets run constantly and the flatware and cookware are in dire need of replacement. Glassware is minimal and also in need of a refresh. However the setting is lovely.
We had a great time! House was large and listing was spot on. We brought a dog and we were able to walk him on the frozen lake and the road in front was also always plowed and rarely traveled by vehicles so that was a plus. I gave 5 stars for communication but I never reached out because we never needed anything. Listing was spot on, house rules were easy to follow and it had everything we needed to cook. Great house Betsy, thanks.

Beautiful home, terribly kept
The day of our arrival, I asked Betsy that if the house is ready before 4:00, if we could enter then. She said she'd check with the housekeeper to see when it would be ready. A few hours later, she said it would be ready between 2:30 and 3:00. The house is beautiful and the floor plan is family-friendly with plenty of room and connectivity. The LR fireplace makes for a cozy place to gather. Although the bathrooms appeared clean, much of the housekeeping is poor. The refrigerator had streaks of dried blood and the sink drains had brown and black grime. A wet, mildewy sponge was left (with no other sponge available) and very little dish soap. The glasses & silverware are badly etched and the coffee carafe has scale build up. The refrigerator filter needs to be replaced and so there is no ice. Many surfaces were dusty, including the shelves were the glasses sit, The kitchen is disorganized, and the consumables are not well stocked.I cleaned what I reasonably could and was not going to complain, but on Day 2, my son showed me evidence of mice on one of the basement beds, so I contacted Betsy. She said they never had complaints about housekeeping or evidence of mice before, reimbursed me 100 for cleaning, and blamed "trying to get you into the house early" as the problem (ridiculous)! When I suggested reimbursement for the 2 unusable bedrooms, she simply ignored me. The stay was not worth the charge or my peace of mind.
The house and views were both amazing. It is rare a rental is so clean and well kept. We feel very lucky the owners share such a special place in an amazing location
