Being senior citizens, it was not very pleasant for us, at the end of the day, to have to climb this steep hill for about 10 minutes to reach the property. "My stay was very nice. The apartment is well located and a short walk to the port area where there are lots of bars and restaurants and a small supermarket which is super close to the apartment. Also it's easy to get to the train station and the fares are very reasonable. Cleanliness was good - the reason for a rating of 4 was that the kettle had mould spores in it. The only downsides were the multitude of steps in Villefranche-sur-Mer (it's built on a hillside) and the steps up to the front...
