"I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and visiting Matera in general. The staff spoke great English, were onsite and were very friendly and personable. We were welcomed with a personal sign outside our door as well. It was walkable to everything you needed. "The property is in a great location on the edge of the historic old town with views just outside of the valley and caves as well as the historic church of San Pietro Caveoso with the Casa Grotta. Breakfast was very good also. Just bear in mind that the property is in the city restricted zone so we had to park around 0.5 miles away and walk with our bags - would have been good if the property description mentioned this as well as pointing out where you can park. Maters is a fantastic little place...

"il riscaldamento ( tramite condizionatore) di una delle due stanze era fuori uso per cui no n'è stato possibile utilizzarla costringendo ad utilizzare un'unica stanza matrimoniale. Il riscaldamento dell'acqua era anch'esso fuori uso e pur avvertendo la sera prima non sono stati in grado di risolvere il problema al mattino. Ingiustificabile. "
