"Fabulous 3 bed gite with a large pool, air con, fast wifi, outdoor games and UK tv channels. Great for families. Handily placed - 30mins to Royan, 40 mins to Cognac, 50 mins to Bordeaux. Catherine, the hostess, couldn't do more for us. We had a great time (despite the weather) and would heartily recommend this idyllic, quiet get-away."

"We had a wonderful holiday at Davide and Cecile’s gîte. The pool is simply beautiful and the garden is huge so lots of space for the children to run around- and there is a football goal so my son was in heaven! There is also volleyball and badminton and boules and hammocks and lots of beautiful trees for shade. The gîte was very comfortable and stylish and there was air con units in the rooms. The location is excellent: St Savinien is a very picturesque town and we enjoyed playing on the river...

"This property is a peaceful shangrila. Our hosts Barbara and Kevin couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. The property is an enclosed peace of paradise. After cognac tasting, going to the local farmers market, kayak races and wandering the lovely village of Jarnac we always looked forward to returning to our gite. The pool is gorgeous, we did a bit of barbecue and to sit in the garden and listen to the birds was such a beautiful way to have a morning coffee or cup of tea. My only...

"The property is beautifully situated with a lovely outlook and breath taking sunsets . It is an interesting area - lots of towns and villages to visit . Beautiful Romanesque churches and also Gallo/ Roman remains. The property is comfortable and the hosts Howard and Liz are thoughtful and knowledgeable. There is a great butcher in the village too."

Wir bevorzugten als Strand die Côte Sauvage , aber auch die Strände entlang der Küste um Royan waren sehr gut zu erreichen. Der Vorteil , nicht direkt an der Küste zu wohnen: französische Lebensart abseits der Touristenmeilen zu erleben .
