"This was one of the most beautiful Corsican hotels I stayed at while touring Corsica. I’d go back in a heartbeat. The staff was amazing - so helpful and friendly. Unfortunately upon check out my bank card did not work in their card reader. They said the payment was declined. I did make alternatives but later when I contacted my financial institution, they informed me it was the card reader at the hotel that was not working. This was unfortunate. Next time, I will always have either cash on hand...

"The stay in Casa di L'Alivu was excellent! The host is very friendly and helpful and the check-in and checkout was very comfortable. The room - we had the maisonette suite - was much to our liking. It is not the most modern furniture, but it is practical and charming, and did the job very well. The windows are a bit harder to open, but they do all work, the bed is very comfortable. "Great access to lovely beach, although it does shelve quite steeply so not so suitable for small children. Beach faces west so lovely sunsets. Chalets are adequate. Much nicer than mobile homes/caravans, although they are fairly basic. Unfortunately the kitchens do not have either an oven or kettle although this is not uncommon. Pool was lovely and great for small children too. Staff were polite and site was clean. Plenty of parking in carpark and trolleys were available to move luggage to and...

It was off-peak so it was very quiet and peaceful at the hotel and the nearby towns. "Big appartment for a budget rate, close enough to the ferry port and nearby supermarkets to allow for walking to and from, but let down by provision of dirty teatowel, hard floors and thin ceilings resulting in no sleep possible until after midnight due to noise (talking and movement) from above. "We really enjoyed the hotel. Rooms were nice and the hotel was centrally located. The hotel has a link you receive that lists local restaurants,etc. They also have parking which is a huge plus. It has ample parking, but is within walking distance of the town centre with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. "The hotel has a lot to offer. Our room was modern, quiet, spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom with a beautiful view over to Calvi and the citadel. There is a lift to all floors and indoor pool. The buffet breakfast has a good range of cold food on offer, with the option to eat in or out on the terrace. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a free secure car park too which is great as it's worth taking trips into the mountains and along the coast. The outdoor pool is a little small with stepped and sloping sides which restricted the swim area which was a pity as the hotel is a fair walk to the beach- but it does have a pool which many hotels dont! The hotel is situated a 10min walk from the centre and the port with a couple of eateries on the way. Calvi is a original old Corsican town, a perfect place for eating, shopping and relaxing with beautiful scenery and beaches. We will be back again."
