We absolutely adored our time in Kyoto. Hotel was in a great location. Train station about a 10 minute walk. I was 7 months pregnant and I did just fine pulling my suitcase. Very neat neighborhood with plenty to see. Our room was on the tiny side but we did get what we paid for. This was just one stop on our honeymoon and the hotel staff had a bottle of wine in our room for the occasion. I appreciated the daily water bottles in our room. The included breakfast was a light one but definitely a nice start to our day. Our goal was to eat our way through Kyoto anyway! The staff was very courteous and made our stay a great one. Would totally stay here again. You will not be disappointed.

Exceptional customer service, from the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff. It was raining on the day I arrived, immediately they went and retrieved several towels to dry myself and my bags. All staff were incredibly friendly throughout. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Had an included breakfast which had options for either a traditional Japanese or western style breakfast. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Third time to stay here! Good service as usual. The only thing can improve is that it would be better if the hotel has washer and dryer although the staff guide me to a washer store within walking distance

Great location with a friendly staff that speaks English. Very clean and comfortable facility. The breakfast offers a choice of two options and both are prepared well. Rooms are small and be warned, the bathroom is very small, but this did not detract from our stay. The price is reasonable and there are lots of shopping, restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

Best hotel experience I’ve had in Japan
Very friendly and helpful staff, had great recommendations for restaurants, decent sized rooms (for Japan) and a fantastic location. Definitely staying here when in Kyoto next. My only comment would be to request a room with a bed not under a window as the curtains don’t keep the sun from shining directly in your face.

Great location, easy to find, good facilities but the staff were the reason this gets 5 stars from me. Nothing was too much trouble and the information they gave us made our stay in Kyoto that much better.

The room was pretty and comfortable, with a closet. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and all speak English well. On the ground floor is a good indoor/outdoor cafe. There are two choices of Western style breakfast and they can make cafe latte. The hotel is well situated right off a main street in Gion, but still quiet. Would definitely recommend.

This is a charming hotel in a very popular location in Kyoto. In walking distance of the Chion-in temple and numerous other tourist attractions it is ideal as a base for travel. The room was beautifully decorated with traditional Japanese art and the breakfast in the cafe was the best one I had all trip.

We loved the location in Gion - very convenient to walk around many sights and experience Japanese culture, lots of good eating places and shopping. Room was very quiet and well equipped but more storage space would be helpful , e.g.a shelf over the hanging area in the wardrobe would have been good. Staff were extremely helpful. Nice breakfast.

Good hotel
We stayed at Kyoto inn gion for 5 nights. The hotel was very clean, the room was big and nice, and the location of the hotel is great, next to a lot of bus and train stations. The crew in the reception were very kind and helpful, they really tried to help when we asked for advices. The only reason i couldn't range the hotel with 5 stars (and gave 4) is the waitress in the dinnig room. The waitress was really not kind, didn't smile at all, looked like someone forced her to work there. I eat gluten free, because my allergic to bread, so I asked the reception to make a little change in breakfast (and instead of choosing between egg+bread or yougurt+bread, to get the egg and the yougurt). In the reception- they imidiattly agreed, but the waitress looked really angry when i asked for this change. In general, every morning when we came, she just looked angry and was'nt kind. Instead of that, everything was really great, and it's very important to me to say that all the other people who work in the hotel were very very kind and pleasent- so in general we enjoyed our stay.

Great boutique hotel
Great boutique hotel. Cozy room although bathroom was a little tight. We had breakfast everyday which was nice. & very tasty. Very friendly & helpful staff. Location is just a few blocks from all the shops/food/bars. We loved Kyoto!
