Great place to stay. Nice lounge, plenty of amenities provided so very convenient. The guy who runs the place i really liked, hes super clever, interesting to talk to, well travelled & speaks perfect English

I warmly recommend this place, something about it was warm and almost made me feel at home! Good spot, very clean and with a lot of natural lights, it definitely contributed to my good experience of Kyoto. Also the staff is adorable.

I wanted to like this place. The staff were friendly. Laundry was free. The facilities looked well maintained. But the noise was not good. First, the doors are all chimed, make a loud noise moving the bolt, and close with a loud clang! At first I thought it was careless door slamming, but even if you close the door gently it makes a loud clack from the lock and door lock. So unless you want to hear "chime, whirr! Clunk!" You may want to rethink this place. Another, temporary?, problem was a loud Australian guest who talked loudly and constantly to anyone who would listen. Literally, i could hear her voice from the 1st floor to the 2nd with my door closed. From 9pm to past 10 pm she didnt stop. On rising the next morning she's loudly talking to someone else. I could not enjoy the lounge without earplugs. This went on for hours, every day. If you go here maybe she'll be gone if you are lucky. If not for the noise and bad guest I'd have given this place a good rating.

This is a unique hostel with its Japanese charm. Place is in excellent location—- about 15- minutes walk to Kyoto station, a couple minutes to a subway station & to bus stops. I was able reach popular destinations easily with public transportation. Convenient store & McDonald’s are just a couple minutes walk as well. Though, good to venture local restaurants. As a solo female traveler, I definitely felt safe. Very close to a scenic river. I had a double room with a bunk bed. However, I happened to not have a roommate & had the room all to myself! It has a window. Charming bed, with Japanese mattress & pillow. There’s a rooftop terrace. Laundry is inexpensive—only 100 yen for both wash & dry. Tea bags of different variety are available & complimentary. I specifically like the one of brown rice. I got to meet & talk with other people from other countries while at the lobby. It was fun! Mr. Ace is a wonderful host. He speaks excellent English, very accommodating, down-to-earth, helpful of suggestions of places to see in Kyoto. Provided assistance with my huge luggage in check-in & check-out process. I need to travel lightly next time. I highly recommend this charming hostel. Will definitely come back!

교토는 버스와 지하철이 잘 되어 있어서 지하철역과, 버스정류장이 가까이 있어서 좋았습니다. 기요미즈테라가 가장 유명한데 숙소에서 걸어가기에는 멀었습니다.

Auberge simple et confortable
C’est très simple, c’est le principe de l’auberge avec douche et wc à partager. Le futon sur tatami est confortable, on dort bien. Et c’est très propre. Donc une bonne note, en lien avec le genre d’établissement. Métro tout proche

Che meraviglioso!! なんと素晴らしい！！
本当に快適に過ごせました。女性の4人部屋を使用しました。同室の人は外国人達だったのですが、皆と仲良くおしゃべりしました。1回目は夜中に鍵の解錠に手間取っていた台湾ガールを昔取った杵柄、お手伝いしました。翌朝出発時間に遅れそうなほど会話。今回の2回目はドイツからのお嬢さん、本当に楽しく爆笑！彼女の独学の日本語もまた楽し。メンバーは時の運ですが、施設が一番素晴らしい。オーナーの人柄も含め、清潔感、機能性、ロケーション、普段はゲストハウス、ユースホステルには宿泊しないのですが(年齢的に笑)なんかいいですね、癖になりそうです。私は未使用でしたが、ランドリーも便利そう。シャワーも快適、キッチンも調味料、ティーの用意、ゴミの選別、リビングも良い、屋上からの見晴らし、清水さん、比叡山、京都タワー、 近所の昔ながらの喫茶店etc.良い思い出ができました。バスも1本で10分少々で東山へ到達、素晴らしい。また機会があれば 利用したいと思っています。ありがとうございました!
