I stayed in three APA properties on recent trip. The one in Kyoto provided best service, and staff speak good English. The room was sadly the smallest among the three, but it was a nice stay.

The hotel is very clean! The staff is the friendliest staff ever. They are very well informed about places to eat, excursions, and pharmacies when we were feeling sick. It’s the cold season and the air conditioning is managed as from management. It made the rooms hot to sleep in. Otherwise it was great. I’ll go back again for sure.

This hotel was great as it was a few blocks from Kyoto station, however bathroom in our room was very little, I am 1.84 Mts and barely fit in the tiny space, consider this if you are taller. APA is a great hotel chain I recommend to first time Japan travelers as it is easy to find an affordable one in every city.
