You won't have a better location, right in the Gion district, a few blocks from practically everything in the area, close to both train and bus stations, the attention of the staff was excellent, very friendly, and the rooms, although they are very small like almost all in Japan, very comfortable and with a good rest.

I recently stayed at APA Hotel Kyoto Gion, and it was a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the basic amenities provided. The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests. The location was convenient, close to local attractions and public transport. Walking distance to all the activities I had planned, easy to get to via transportation. Only problem I had was that it was too hot. The staff provided me with a fan and that helped cool down the room a bit.
