"It is nice hotel in good location. The only problem with this hotel is that you need to go down to get taxi. There are lot of steps to climb if you have to go early in the morning as the lift will be operational after 8:00 AM. The service is good, and the staff are friendly"

The front desk concierge Nikita is professional and efficient, she assisted us in arranging taxis to tourist attractions and to Mandi. The dining experience was delightful and delicious. Views from the dining room overlook Shimla valley which adds to the wonder. The pastry chef took time to answer our questions about unique Indian flavors, even showing us type of vegetable that, as Americans, we were not familiar with. Especially helpful in the dining room was a server named Aarte. She provided expert service, answered questions about foods, and made quality suggestions about menu selections. She also indulged me in trying to learn a little Hindu. Thank you, Aarte! The rooms were lovely. They were spotlessly clean. The linens were crisp and the beds were comfy. I highly recommend the Orchid in Shimla. "
