"No question, the rooms are big and comfortable. The atmosphere is very sterile, more like a communist grand hotel than a tropical resort. Friendly waiters but terrible food (Thai food has little in common with real Thai food, Western food little with real Western food; and don't expect any fresh ingredients or fresh fish there!), large selection at the breakfast buffet but all bad quality (even the "fresh" fruit tastes of refrigerator). "While the pool area has not been updated, the hotel in its entirety was fabulous! It felt as though I was the only person there and was truly a wonderful escape from most of the tourist hustle and bustle. I had the entire beach to myself and enjoyed undisturbed time with a book and the sound of the waves. If you want to escape the tourism of Thailand, Tacola is the place to go!"

"All depends on what you are looking for. This resort has most of the needed facilities to be classified 4 or even 5 stars if things were working properly. The hotel has obviously cut down on all expenses and run things with a strict budget. it is a huge property with very nice bungalows and rooms (didn't visit rooms). 3 connecting pools and one separate. no lights in the pools unfortunately, which is more fun for night swims, but still, you can swim anytime without time restriction. Lovely stay at Ayara Villlas.

"Excellent stay at Ayara Villas from swift, friendly check in to helpful staff. Nothing was too much effort for them. Clean rooms with plenty of towels, including pool beach towels. Hair dryer in room and toiletries. Kettle for hot drinks with sachets of coffee, creamer and tea bags. A bottle of water provided per person per day. Beer and soft drinks in fridge which were payable. Umbrellas provided for the frequent downpours! Three hotel swimming pools which were very clean, with showering facilities and poolside loungers. Buffet style breakfast with a choice of eggs different ways, bread/toast, croissants, bacon, fruit, cereal, thai dishes, pancakes. Plenty of choice. Good coffee."
